Black Widow

That's about the only way she can win,,,unless Karen and Allison don't show up. Dressing like a street walker did wonders for her career.

I dunno, in my opinion, if women are your thing, you should have no problem with the way Jeanette dresses.

How is that a cheap shot? That was a compliment!

Just seeing if i could get a rise out of you. Afterall the reverse has already been determined. :)

But seriously, i just thought outing her enhancement was a bit unnecessary.

SS,
I guess we will have to disagree. Since Jeanette began concentrating on her game 2 years ago, her record against both Karen and Allison is quite good (close to if not above .500). She has significant health problems (worse this year, but present throughout her career) that would keep anyone but a fierce competitor on the sidelines. To maintain a top 5 ranking is quite admirable given the circumstances. In August she will undergo yet another back surgery (she's had somewhere between 5 and 8 surgeries on a part of the body that often leaves the patient disabled even after a single surgery). Try playing that level of pool through excruciating pain, it may not be as easy as you think. Twice in the last 2 years Jeanette has beaten Allison 7-0 in a televised match (I also recall her beating Karen twice in the same tournament a year or 2 ago) - she's definitely got game.

I think her fashion sense is quite good, and nothing like any street walker I've ever seen (perhaps you have more experience in this area). Players like Jeanette and Ewa who make an attempt to dress up the sport should be commended.
then maybe she shoulda thought twice before addin all that weight on her front side. it take a real genius for someone wit back problems to add big fake ta ta's. she maybe got some game but she really lackin in the brains department.

Geez, you guys must be total pool fanatics - you need a life outside pool. The one page article is on the last page of the issue - Rick Reilly's column. He visited Indy several weeks ago. He got the idea to take the worlds best known pool player into a bar and see if they could hustle one of the locals. Disguise included glasses, wig, broadening the nose, butt and bust padding - professional make-up. Reilly played the obnoxious, drunk backer. Her husband placed an anonymous call to one of the local house players that drunks were dropping cash at the bar. Shark shows up, Jeanette stomps the shark (very distressed at losing to a girl), then they exposed the scam. The costume was a little risque - the bartender opines at the end, "I figured there was a pro in the room, I just didn't know what kind."

Willebetmore, thanks for filling us in about facts of the article.

They would have been better bringing in George Breedlove. It just goes to show how the media treats pool players, like dogs to do tricks for them. I am sure they got a good laugh out of it. Pool is still for backroom, shady, drunks who hustle unsuspecting victims out of there hard money. Great article for pool and SI and great expsosure for Jeanette Lee.... This is part of the reason why pool has not evolved out of the "Hustlers" shadow....

Jeanette should have declined to do the piece and should have stated to SI that, I am a Professional Pool Player, not a hustler, not a con artist, but a professional pool player, period. At least that would brought some respect to her, the game and the achivements of all of the other pros out there...Then maybe, SI would have done an article on what it is like to be a pro pool player, traveling the world, winning tournaments, signing autographs, giving lessons and trying to make this great game on par with other nationally known sports and games....But, it just goes to show that alot of these players are just dogs to tricks to entertain....Isn't that what trick shot magic is for???

If I dropped a few thousand on some boobs, you can bet your ass I'd be showing them off, too! Nothing wrong with wanting to look your best. :)
Speaking of boobs, why did you edit your picture? Nice picture, better before. JRHENDY

Just Play,
Actually George IS in the article - he dumps a couple of games to the house player first, then matches the guy up with Jeanette.

As you say, its sad that this guy (a proficient player by the way) doesn't recognize Jeanette (?most recognizable pool player on the planet?) OR George (by far the best player Indy has ever produced). I don't begrudge anyone making a living at pool - but as you so very correctly point out its sad that pool has such a poor image. On the other hand, I know ALL of the involved parties had a really fun time with the scam - wouldn't you help out if they wanted you involved??? Pool can be fun too - especially if you know you've got the nuts.

For the sake of having fun, yes, I probably would help out since I am not a pro player that is why George Breedlove would have been better to use as the main player. But I hold Pro players, especially Jeanette Lee to better standards than cheap pool hustling. She is just getting exposure for her-self and a negitive one at that. At least that is what I think. Did she make any money off the article? They probably paid her for her time....

It's not like it's a secret! I think she's beautiful either way. My mother has had work herself... including her eyes and two nose jobs.

JP,
I do not think anyone was paid for the article. She did NOT keep the money she hustled - gave it back. I believe the main point of the article was to illustrate how little recognition skilled athletes get when pool is their chosen profession (fairly well illustrated in my opinion, Reilly is a HOOT). It seemed a positive article to me.

I think it is just one more example of Jeanette wanting to do something to help gather more publicity for the game (and yes, for herself to; pool, after all, is her chosen profession and the way she makes a living. Who here would NOT try to maximize their income and exposure? What is her "window of opportunity" to make a living at this game?). She also gives SIGNIFICANT time and effort to several local and national charities - exposure for her can only help her efforts on behalf of these charities. Which of the male players are contributing significant time and energy to charity??

There's good work and bad work. I guess it really depends on how skilled the surgeon is. You know, sometimes Walt "The Janitor" isn't qualified to put a power sander against someone's nose.

She was much more beautiful before the surgeries... Many Asian women want the American eyes and nose. Crazy... I don't like the feel of fake boobs myself so I'll never get them.

Would you be massaging your own boobs that much?!?

I am not talking about her charitable contributions. But showing how to hustle pool in bars while pretending to be drunk? Its negitive publicity. How many articles on golf, bowling or table tennis, where the participants pretented to be drunk or were drunk and went to a course, field or table to hustle their game? Would Tiger Woods (who donates millions to charities), hustle golf against a bunch of amatures? Does Maria Shrapova, goto out of the way tennis courts and dress up in a disguise and hustle tennis matches for an SI article?

Please explain to me, how pretending to be drunk, hustling bar patrons or amature pool players in bars, out their money (yes, i know they gave the $ back) is positive for her and for her charities and for pool itself? Yes, everyone got a good laugh out of it, but what is the message it sends to the public?

You have to be careful with cosmetic surgery as it can become a neurosis. Just look at Michael Jackson!
