I've read a few similar books, but this is by far the best. It doesn't try to be cute, doesn't BS the reader, and isn't peddling some gimmicky product. It's written by a top level player and intended for sophisticated pool readers, thus it doesn't waste time explaining pool jargon or with the ubiquitous "these are the basics of playing pool" section. Diagrams are clear and effective. I've already seen the benefit of some of the drills he explains.

5/5 stars.

I'm waiting for his 14.1 manual to come out ;) Might consider getting more of his books, there always have positive feedback. Thanks for sharing with us.

I only have one book on pool "Lessons In 9 Ball" , I dont think I will need another one because I have no trouble understanding what is written as well as the many diagrams the book has.

I also saw improvement right away, especially in my breakshot.

I'm reading it now...:D
What I think I like the best about it is, if I have a question about it, Blackjack is usually lurking around here somewhere to ask.

I agree, great book!

Thank You!

Thank you everybody for the kind words. I worked very hard to improve this version of the book, and I am glad that lulu.com does such a great job producing the book into a quality product. Thank you to everybody that has purchased the book. I have yet to see one sold on e-bay or anywhere else, and I first published the book in 2003.

I am currently working on 2 other books -

The 14.1 book has been delayed for a variety of different reasons, but I am working on it day and night - re-doing the diagrams with the newest version of the CueTable. Wei has done a great job with this too, and I was half way done with the diagrams using the older version, but this CueTable is definitely the best. This is my first time using the CueTable for my books, and I must say that it takes a lot of the guesswork out.

Here is a preview of the book cover. The book should be done soon (soon ranges anywhere between 1 and 45 days) . I am in the process of moving, and I've had some other curve balls thrown at me recently. Just know that I am working very hard to get it done.

The other book I am putting together is on the mental game, and it is entitled "With Each Shot a Victory" - this book contains virtually everything that I have ever written about the mental game, sports psychology and life. Right now I am editing it down which is a big undertaking. I will let everybody know when these books are ready. Once again thanks for the support.

Lessons in 9 ball is a great book! I got to preview the pdf, and will be buying the book as well to support Dave.

There is a lot of good stuff about the mental game in it.

Thanks Russ,

I would like to also let everybody know that I have a free complimentary edition of the book (.pdf file) that I give to all active duty military personnel (as well as civilian contractors like Russ that are in Iraq).

If there is anybody that is in the military, or you are a civilian contractor in Iraq/Afghanistan - feel free to shoot me a PM and I will send this file to you.

Please ensure that is a yahoo e-mail account that can accept this file, as it is kind of large.

Thank you to all of you that work in defending our country and our freedoms.
