so i was watching color of money last night and it reminded me of something. Its hard to believe it was about 20 years ago, but i was taking ab break from college, working as an upholsterer....loved pool, loved color of money, and when i saw that case vincent and eddie had i said to myself "i can make that".....so i did. I did some things different, added corner protectors, etc......but the inspiration was 100% from the movie. Its funny cuz after i built it i felt like i couldnt take it anywhere, people would either expect me to be a bigshot or a geek lol, so its been closeted ever since. Anyway, heres a few pics, hope someone gets a kick out of it.

lmaooooo.......i love that line.

appreciate the kind words.

i cant see ever making them.......at the time i made this one at had full access to a furniture factory......wood shop, glue booth, sew shop (nice lady who worked there did my initials) all the materials except the suede.......and cant remember where i had to go to get the hardware but other than time the case didnt really cost anything to build. But if i had to put it all together today to try and build them, sheesh what a pain.

Now you just need an OLD Joss N-7 (Vincent's DOOM) inside of it.

The J-18, is the original model number of that cue stick :), I remember it being mentioned on here a good while ago, before I joined the forum, and funnily enough, I had a look on evilbay, to see if anyone was selling any and there was 1 guy selling a J-18 and it was in very good condition too, I would've bought it myself, but I didn't have the bankroll to get it, oh well :)

i had one that was a little different than the movie's cue,but was "the color money cue".i bought it probally 4 years ago maybe 6.through out the years its probally changed models a couple or more times.

Very nice case. I'm guessing by the condition of it in the photos that it has never been thrown down a flight of stairs from a 2nd floor poolhall in Chicago as the one in the movie did? I had a buddy who worked at a glass/plastics shop make me a clear plexi case for my old Meucci "Hook" cue. The cue looks to be suspended in the middle of the case with the way we designed the holders. I think back now and wonder "did I really carry that thing around?"....it weighed a ton. It's been "in the closet" for a good 10+ years.

i still giggle at the part when Vincent smiles really big and tells Mouzel , "Doom. we're gonna have alot of fun"
i love that scene

The one on evilbay, that I remember, had 6 veneers on the ebony points (White, Black, White, Green, White and Black) and full MoP diamonds and not notched diamonds, like the original and current models have :)

Like you say though, it's probably had a good few model numbers and alterations over the past 20+ years :)
