Blomdahl's NEW cue?

Blomdahl's cue

Bill, from an earlier post on the forum, this was mentioned:
"Blomdahl's new cue is a Predator P3 adpted for three cushions with a 314 shaft, it seems Predator will be launching a new line of carom billiards."

(discussed here: http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=265276)

Don't know that for a fact, but seems credible.

Has anyone found out what cue Blomdahl is REALLY playing with these days. Looks like it has a metal ring at the jiont.

Anyone?

BILL: That is the most illogical question I have ever heard considering the expertise, knowledge, intelligence and longevity of the person that asked it. Plus you yourself have been around that block.

TB, like yourself, could play with any broomstick on the planet, so now the only consideration is who pays you the most to do so. I believe that is the answer to your question. The exact marque I cannot tell you but I do unner stan da principle.

NOW I GOT A QUESTION FOR YOU: using debris from my lathe I have sculpted a portraight of a friend of ours. Tell me truthfully.....IZZ THIZZ BILL JOHNSON or not ?????? :groucho:

This, from an April 18th FB status from Torbjorn:

"Just signed a contract with Molinari cues. My new cues and the other Molinari models will soon hit the market. As soon as info material is available, I'll let You know. Made by Predator, with zero deflection shafts, these cues enable me to play my own game and make many difficult shots easy."

Zero deflection or near zero deflection !!!

Ira, I have been told that in the known laws of physics a deflection will occur when an object collides then bounces. Also, that in reality the laws of physics are not mutable, so it is known for sure that there will be deflection or, "NEAR ZERO DEFLECTION". I'm not 100% sure of that because this shaft may be made of "KRYPTONITE", then both Blomdahl and Superman could endorse this product. The only problem I see with that material is that it is known to be "RADIO ACTIVE", and if so, our carom players would then glow in the dark!!!!!!!! --------- Has anyone out there seen Blomdahl in the dark lately? It may be true!, he plays carom billiards and pool like he is from another world!--------- All kidding aside, if you or Blomdahl endorses a carom product chances are I would probably purchase it.

Dan,

Blomdahl knows a lot about deflection - I'm sure that he knows that absolute zero-deflection is physically impossible. I guess that's the marketing hype being echoed... anyway, he seems to like the cue. If he does, a lot of people will probably buy it.

You guys beat me to it. Zero deflection goes against the physics I've been taught.

One could say that the deflection has been so muted by the technology of the shaft that one can not discern or notice any deflection or that the deflection is so managed that no adjustments have to be made for squirt/slide/deflection etc.

Tiger and Longoni are the only LD carom shafts that I have tested and do find them remarkably low low deflection.

Pedro and Mazin play with the Tiger Carom XLD. And now Blomdahl with the Predator Carom LD.

I wouldn't argue with players of this level.

p.s. all Caromm Carom cues offer 3 shafts Tiger STIFF, Tiger Extra STIFF(laminated), and Tiger Extra STIFF LD (laminated)

At the nationals vegas, Thierry Gabriel let me test the Blomdahl cue for an hour, I tried 3 different shafts , They all play the same.
I personally couldn't believe that the cue is ZERO deflection ,but after playing with more than an hour, I BELIEVE it's very very close to ZEROOOO!

I played with longoni S2(laminated shaft ) & Tiger LD shaft.

Both technology are not even close to the MOLINARES as far as Deflection !!! (honest opinion)

I am sure it's personal , but I hope you get the opportunity to try it and give your opinion .

The cue is coming up in JULY 2012 in EUROPE......

Stiff, stiffer, more stiff, stiffier

I believe new technology is wonderful, however in the real world I wonder if we really need all that? You know what I,m talking about. It seems that every other week there is a new i-phone, i-pad and what ever else that nobody has yet!, but for sure you must have it!. My Grandkids tell me they must have it! Society says you must have it or you may not be a member in good standing! Since I retired five years ago I decided to cancel my very basic cell phone that I used mostly for business because people were calling me and asking me to do work. I no longer work and I no longer have a need for a cell phone and my quality of life has improved! How did we ever make it through the 50's? without a cell phone???? ----------- Now, to my question!, I,m getting close to seventy and I'm wondering if a stiff shaft will improve the quality of my life, ----------------- NOT THAT SHAFT!!!!!!!!!!----- I,m referring to the new technological advances in carom shafts. At my age do you think it will really make a difference in my game and how much more will it improve my masse shot? My understanding is that Patino and Saginer both hold the record of 31 billiards in 3-cushion, and they did that with old technology. It's all good!, deep down inside all of us we know we can break the record!! , so I will probably try this new technology so that I can break the record high run!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and when that never happens, at least I will be a member of society in good standing and my Grandchildren will be proud of me for it!

ACCORDING TO CARL CONLON:

The PLAYER deflects the ball, NOT THE CUE, by trying to cue farther than necessary FROM CENTER OF MASSE...and slapping at it with a certain swing, grip and bridge firmly fixed in ones mind before execution is of paramount importance......FOR STARTERS IN CAROMS IF YOU CANNOT PUT A LITTLE CURVE [read deflection] on ball number one [players ball] you are doomed to KISS KISS KISS........
Other greater players than CARL have since told me basically the same thing......if only becasue they were trying to suck a cue out of me.....many are friends.

AT ANY RATE if you watch my hands and feet when I shoot you will see CARL CONLON.....perfect position......sniper at 1000 yards......pull the trigger PEDRO.. :groucho: ...I also have 6 left hand bridges I can make comfortably that will help me make the shot....my right hand when I have to bridge with it I got 2 comfortable bridges.....one taught to me by IRVING CRANE.

You do want to know how many cue artists, both pool and billard etc I have asked grips questions to and because I deluded them into thinking they were going to get a really nice cue they spilled the beans......as a result I got 24 different ways if my right hand is on the butt and six for lefty.......IZZZ IT NO WONDER I CANT SCORE ??????

OK mister name dropper...beat this one....in 1970...I smoked a dubber with Janis Joplin in Kansas City...or was it Memphis...Shreveport maybe...I don't remember.

The next question if this cue made by Predator Cue.. Will he also join Charles Williams Dragon Promotions Player List? I know he did one Carom competition in Korea for Dragon Promotions

Zensteve:
" dubbie"
A cannabis blunt. Often preceded by the adjective "p'tit".
-Hey L-A, what about smokin' a lil dubbie?

a dubber is what you sound like after you smoke a dubbie. (assuming you inhale)

Chris,

A dubb(ie) is like the word smart in Port Arthur, Texas parlance...and is gradational. If it was good enough for Janis...it's good enough for me.

smart................. dubb(ie)...............normal THC level
smarter.............. dubber.................stinky THC level
smartest............ dubbest................Thai stick level

Dan, I am not your age yet (I m 37 and don't have your experience so far ) , but I respect your point of view & kind of agree with what your saying at some point :

. Mr Willie Hope (USA) made high run of 20 ( 3 cushion officially ) on old Brunswick

. Mr Komori (japan ) Run of 28 on a better equipement) EQUALIZED by Mr 100 (Raymond Ceulemans) at age of 64! Run of 28

.Mr Sayginer (Turkey ) RUn of 22 against Blomdahl in Bordeaux (france ) on CHEVILLOTE TABLES.

.Mr Caudron (belgium ) last year run of 27 , and the game was over (almost break the world record)

.....
Alll the top record are officials . ....

Now the .....
The High run Unofficial is by Torbjorn Blomdahl 34

They say , Hugo Ran 31 ....( he is a could player )

Sayginer maybe could ran 40 .. I don't know.

We can't keep up with technology ( always ahead of us and cost $) But the game haschanged and averages went really high crazy ....50 points in 6 innings by Eddy merks 8.33 average ...
Players from spain , greece .....22 years old have 1.4 general average ....
and all because of....Talent , Opportunity, instructions, Billiard academies....Money .... Video ....Technology ....

Maybe 10 years from now players are gonna average 4 or 5 because of 6inch slates (fast tables)& new rubber rails , NEW BALLS No friction ...
Cues , Butt & shafts....I DON"T KNOW ,IT's CRAZY!!

I m not a cue maker and I don't wanna sell cue ( & I am not interested )
I Like to watch the game EVOLVING with time and Averages SKY ROCKING ...

Thi happen today,
Nikos Polychronopolos

23 run.jpg

The Turkish Tayfun Tasdemir home player Dani Sánchez defeated in six sessions with 30 to 16 (5,000 average).

The Kozoom site tells (in German) that Blomdahl has signed a 3-year contract with China based Molinari by Predator and that he is euphoric about his new cue. "It's amazing what you can hit with this cue." "Difficult balls become easy. I am convinced." or something like that, my German is not that good. Marketing hype, no doubt, but I am curious about these cues. I am not buying one anyway, my Kilby and Adam are more than good enough for me.
