There is a long and convoluted history behind the latest Blue Book. The summary is that many pictures were taken by, and lots of information was given to, the person who originally was contracted to assemble the book. The book didn't get assembled and most, if not all, of the pictures and information did not make it into the hands of the people who finally put it together. It resulted in an "interesting" combination of who had information listed and who didn't, AND who made it into the color section and who didn't.TheBook said:There are many cue makers in the Blue Book and information about them. Are the cuemakers personally contacted for this info? Do you have to pay to be included? Some cue makers have pages of info and others ,Prewitt as an example, have nothing.

BLACKHEARTCUES said:I have been listed in all 3 of the editions. They contacted me originally & asked if I wanted to be included. There is no charge to the Qmaker. I sent them a bio & a picture of my BLACK HEART logo & they used that info, in the book. They contacted me, before publishing the next 2 editions & asked for pictures & an update on my info. Hope this is what you were looking for...JER

I was curious on why there was so little info on some and tons on others. I like that there is no personal opinions stated about any cues as that is very subjected. It just seems strange that a cuemaker would not want some free coverage or maybe some of them might feel that they need some of the royalties for being a contributor.
I could see that some of the pictures in the color section were submitted by Pool Table Magic and not the cuemaker. I think it would be better if the cuemaker submitted cues that he would want as a representation of his work.
BLACKHEARTCUES said:This my 20th year, making pool cues. There are lots of them, that I would like to have in the book, but I have no idea where they are or what condition they are in. Often a Qmakers work is collected & these Qs are offered by the collectors, to represent a certain Qmaker, in the Book. I have taken pictures of all of my Qs for the last 10 years, but these are pictures that I keep for reference. They are not of a quality, to be used in a publication. I'm sure that this is the case with many Qmakers...JER
