I honestly don't think anyone really knows.
The date keeps getting pushed back.

I've heard rumors about October. Can't confirm anything though... sadly. I'll be lining up for the 3rd ed as soon as it's published. I got the 2nd ed. as well !

thanks

I can't say for sure, but I am very confident that they will be printed and in hand before the end of the year, and probably by the end of October.

Yes, it will be out. I was on the phone with them for quite a while as they were re-checking all their information. It seems that they got a royal screwing by the one who was to be doing it and now are trying to undo the mess so they can get it out. Nothing had been done in the entire time since the project was handed over and was returned to them as just a boxed up mess.

I was told by 1 of the cuemakers that they had lost a no. of his and other cuemakers photo's and had to go back and reshoot them.

Your story only scratches the surface of what happened. The details are useless at this point. What everyone should know is that the project is back on track and on the fast track as well.

Thanks for the info. I'm anxiously awaiting a copy to. Even with all all the troubles, I'm sure it will be a first class book.

Deno is right, it's satisfactory to your curiosity if you know the details of the background but at least I'd much rather see the book in my hands as soon as possible disregarding what has happened in the past !

I had heard that it is going to press the end of this month for an October release. I have the first edition and someone told me that it is worth $300.00 and the second edition $150.00. Is this true? Where either editions released in hardcover?

Jeff,

Man, you are eat up with it. :) Welcome to the wonderful world of being a "cue addict".

I would be very surprised if the book is out by the end of the year. Hopefully it will be, though. It is going to be VERY interesting to see what makes it in there. We provided a lot of information on many different cue makers to Martyne (as did a lot of other folks), and I'm curious if some or any of that will make it into the book. I hope that the prices show a solid reflection of the market (for the many) and is not simply a cater job for a few.

I'm a little curious to see what happens, my wife pre-ordered the book for me last christmas, just don't know if i'm gonna be out the money she paid and have to spend it again just to get the book.

The publishing company who produces the book is a pretty big operation. I would seriously doubt that you would be out any money at all. I would give them a call if you have any worries:

The reason why the book was never printed on time is because there was no new manuscript for the publisher. Since Brad has taken over the project, there is now a manuscript that is meeting deadline for production.

As far as what was turned over to Brad for insertion, it is impossible to know the full magnitude of the problem. However, with the help of several people, me included, Brad is doing a great job to make sure that the cues are current and that the prices reflect the market. At this point, I see no reason to doubt the new release date.
