Bluegrass vanished during transportation (USPS)

Years ago before society turned on itself the postal workers were like your uncle. They were beyond reproach. I remember one that brought us kids candy and had treats for my dog!

Now that being a low life corner crawling beggar, lying that your a vet is popular, I have lost all faith in almost everyone. I do find comfort being around folks my own age and older when we reminisce about the good old days. They were just that too. But they are long gone...

People had things like pride and integrity and would never stoop to stealing or lying. It was beneath our dignity as Americans.

As far as cue sales and shipping goes. It is like the rest of society. They all are untrustworthy and as the OP discovered he is screwed. Now he has to deal with the whole hustle of claiming the loss with USPS. More bullshit for sure..

I approach just about everything these days figuring it could go bad at any moment....
Seriously? There was a time when Americans never lied or stole? You crack me up.

Yeah, can't think of any major incidents involving postal workers in years past (like indiscriminate murders, for example).

That's AZB though. Everything was better years ago. The cues, the players, etc. All despite counterfactuals. There's always that narrative floating around, but it feels overrepresented here sometimes.

Call the Tawain postal Inspectors....this was mailed from there and don't tell me there are no thieves there. This could have arrived at customs empty.. has anyone thought of that. There's no excuse for mailing any item of value and not insuring it.....NONE!

One excuse for not buying insurance. Same as a Cop in high crime area not wearing body armor, issued & paid for by department.

Dumb decision.🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭

I doubt I'll be able to find it back, cause the whole cue was taken out of the sealed tube.

Colorado.

The buyer did try contacting his local post office regarding this matter. But they said only the "shipper" can file a claim, which I already did.

I did not insured the package. The last time I insured and had my items damaged, my post office could not even compensate 20% of my insured amount. As my cue was used and they could not proof my cue value. From then on, I stop insuring my package, only shipped it "signature required" and make sure my package is packed & sealed solidly.
I bought a couple of cues from you, didn't I. Either Tad or JW. Nice cues, thanks!

as far as jobs. there are all you want starting at 30 bucks an hour working as a laborer or starting helper in the construction business. and im not talking ditch digging. that can be a $60,000 a year job.
house cleaning can bring the same wages so starting a service is easy for that.
tree trimming services are paying even more for a worker that stays on the job.

but the better bigger paying jobs, many or most require a drug test so that eliminates those that have different priorities in life.

Sorry to hear about this happening to you. I wonder if you had insurance on it? Sometimes by insuring packages you alert someone with sticky fingers that something valuable is inside. I have shipped many cues via USPS Priority Mail with no insurance and so far they've all arrived safely. Your package went through so many hands and one of them was the wrong hands. I seriously doubt it was your mailman. It was probably long gone by the time he got the package to deliver to you. It may well have been someone close to his end of the line though.
SAME! I never use insurance. Good luck collecting it if you needed to, anyhow.

Insured or not I usually say I'm shipping a part. Then thieves hopefully think it's not complete and not worth taking. For example, here I would say it's a "used BG part# RH09, mfg. 2016".

If you insure it, the receipt for payment, for sale ad and pictures should cover you. If it was new and you said used, you could just tell the postmaster you were trying to dissuade thieves.
