I received this email from Gary Eake:
To all:
I received the following info from Bob's wife Cynthia via a mutual friend:
"Bob is doing great. I cannot believe the progress he is making daily. A week ago he was barely responsive, and now he's sitting up having dinner, feeding himself, getting his speech in order…
He suffered a hemorrhagic stroke on October 19, and was airlifted to Iowa City to the University of Iowa Hospital. He was not responsive for several days (he was conscious though) and suddenly he started coming out of it. He began to recognize me, say his own name and birthdate, etc. Now it's like a miracle, although there's still lots of therapy in store for him. He'll probably be in Finley Hospital rehab here in Dubuque for at least another week. He's been there a week already.
If you want to send him a card, best to send it to our house and I'll bring it. They tend to get lost at the hospital, or he's eating them."
NOTE: Given all Bob has done to advance the quality of all cue sports sending a card is the lease we can do!
