i am just learning how to use bob-cad 17, what i was wondering was is bob-cad 21 really that much better and if it is worth buying, or is there another cad program for doing in-lay work better. i am really new to cnc and g-codes. i bought the mini-mill machine that was posted on the machine forum. larry was great to deal with and is extremely helpful, but just wondering if i should up-grade to 21 or a different program or if 17 is everything that i will need. thanks eric (bloodhound cue's)
 
21 is good however my wonderful rep won't let me get any work done unless I upgrade. Their salesmen are very pushy.
BTW not upgrading yet. Supposedly they have autometed some processes in the latest ver.
 
go with 21.5 always with bobcad call them on late friday afternoon
offer 195.00 to 250.00 for the upgrade do not go with 22 use 21.5
they have a quota to meet late fridays is the ticket trust me

You obviously haven't programmed any really small arcs yet. I got some really weird gcode when doing so.

I have experienced this with both Bobcad 20 and 22 with the same drawing. Once I removed the tight angles these issues went away. I don't believe that ver. 22 offers the ability to exchange A axis for the Y axis. I believe Lee told me that 21.5 still offers this.

I got that in 21 also. Starts making weird shapes circles the wrong way. And yes it is cleaned up and optimized.
