Got a question...

I like cue but whenever I see a cue with double veneers of the same color I wonder why they dont use anything like a black or white to seperate them.

I like veneers but a narrow seperate black would be better.

Adding the black or white veneer would change the whole look of the thick green veneers. I have seen them done both ways but it definately changes the look of the points. When you lay my cue on the table and walk away from the cue about 10-15 feet you can still really see the color well. As a big fan of the thicker veneers especially when they are doubled I really like the look of these points. I think the thinner veneers that are currently the "trend" are not near as nice looking and pronounced as the thicker type of old. I have seen some cues with the thinner veneers where the veneers appear wavy and also some that appear to bleed together. My next cue purchase or trade will have to be a cue with the thicker veneers, it is just what I myself like better.

personally, after seeing them, I'm a huge fan of double green veneers!! some day I'm gonna have a scruggs like that. just gotta stop buying other cues and save up!! lol

???????????

First I would like to say very nice cue. Did you buy this cue on secondary market or have it made for you? What does it weigh? One more thing I really like the double green veneers.

question

Probably a bad question, but whats something like this cue go for from Bob? I like it VERY much!

Bob Frey Players Cue

Bob makes only a few custom cues a year. This cue would currently cost $1100. for a basic 4 point cue. Add $40.00 each for the 8 Ivory Star Inlays, and another $150.00 for the Leather wrap. Total $1580.00.

For a look at a high end Bob Frey go to "Bob Frey Custom" cues on my web site. WWW.CUESNTHINGS.COM JP

Sorry the quality of the pics isn't better

More pictures

Anyone else have any Frey cues other than the sneaky pete versions that they care to share pictures of. I will be looking for a 4 pointer with veneers and either an Ivory joint or phenolic joint while at the SBE.

Nice cue ...

I like the double green veneers, provides the color to make it stand out a little, and I like the elongated stars on it. It is a cue that is together in its design.

Nice cue, Kevin! I, too, am a fan of the double veneered points...in particular when it's a colored veneer that is doubled and sandwiched in between a thin border veneer. I think the double veneers can really 'pop' the forearm of a cue. And that is exactly what the double green veneers did with this cue!! Very nice indeed.
