While at DCC I bought a Shurtz cue from Bob Owen.
He sold so many cues he was out of shafts. He
had one used slightly warped shaft. He said I could
have a discount or just keep that shaft and he
would send me a new one in 2 to 4 weeks.
To my surprise the new one came today.
My thanks to Bob Owen, a good guy to deal with.

I too was lucky enough to meet Bob and buy a cue from him...at the US Open. Nice man, great hitting cue and I would suggest his product to anyone looking for a cue that plays and looks awesome!!

A nice guy?? In the billiards industry?? Say it isn't so!!

This story about Bob Owen is helping to restore my faith in good business sealed over a handshake.

even if its the only custom maker ive been talking with, as i hope to be able to pay for my churtz soon, i can only say his cues look very neet, and he is a very VERY nice guy to deal with.

(looking for a sponser for about 200$ :D pm me if u wish to help solly get a real cue instead of this cheapy j&j.)

Article in current Inside Pool about Bob

There is a very nice article by Fred, about Shurtz Cues, and Bob Owen in the current issue of Inside Pool. In case you didn't know, Bob Owen is Gabe Owen's father. Good article, and great looking cues...

Shurtz

A extreamly good road player just passed through here playing and selling Shurtz cues. A friend of mine bought a mid-priced one($650) and it plays, well you wouldn't believe me if I told ya but I have to tell ya, its the second best playing cue I have ever played with. Im waiting for the "Witchita Road Bandit" to swing through here with some more. I didnt buy one the first time because I absolutely cant stand 5/16 14 threaded cues. They feel dead to me. NOT SHURTZ however, they feel excelent with that pin. Im going to be more open minded in the future.;)

.... OB has nothing to do with bob owen or shurtz cue's.

ob stands for Owen Bunnell Inc. wich stand for Don Owen and Royce Bunnell.

the shaft is made of 6 pieces, and the ferrules are made of 1 piece of laminated maple...

:) thx for the info lamar

Hey Solartje,
I stand corrected as for the names.
I do request you go www.obcues.com & upon entering the site, click on construction, there you will see that each of 6 pieces is constructed of 10 laminated pieces of hardrock maple.
Now, 10x6=60. This is where I am comming from.
