Hello all,
I need your help answering a few questions about a Schon that I just bought. It is an older R5 model that I am wondering if it might be old enough to be considered a Bob Runde era Schon. First of all, what years are considered the "Runde Era" and second, does anyone know if BR ever used a pantograph or a C&C on his late Schons. The reason I ask is Arial Carmeli is refinishing this cue for me and he said that he thought that Bob had used a pantograph on some of his later Schons. This cue has rounded points but also has the stitch rings and micarta furrels on both of the original shafts. I will post pics in a few days, once Arial is done with it and I most likely will be selling the cue but I want represent the cue as accuratly as possible. Any help you might have would be appreciated.

If it is an R series cue, it is Runde era. They started pantographing/milling points shortly before Bob left (92ish?). When you hear people talking about Runde era, alot of folks are refering to the spliced pointed cues. Collectors like the spliced point cues better money wise..... but if you bought the cue to play with, or you just flat out like it..... it makes NO difference. :D

It is probally a cue from the late 80's or early 90's to be exact 89-90 would probally be the date. You can always email Evan Clark at Schon cues or just give him a call. He will talk for hours about his cues if you let him. You can still order R-series cues today with the stich rings if you want one.
