any questions, call the numbers on the flyers. or PM me

players are rated by a knowing basis. if i dont know them, then i will find someone who does or get a clear judgement of speed then they pay their entry. the widest variety of players will be A and B players. the AA's are players like myself, Manny Chau, Shaun Wilkie, Ryan m, Danny G, etc. there will not be very many C players.

Black Balled

funnnny Guy! i sure you hope you can make it out for once and snap it off as an A player,,,,or should I put you as AA...hmmmm?? jk haha

I cannot find all my Bobby Stocks photos, but I have a bunch. He used to love to go hang out on the rail, sweating the action. He put a lot of players in action, as a matter of fact.

Bobby was a heavy cigarette smoker. About a year before he passed, I saw him at Glass City Open in Toledo. He told me he had to quit cigarettes. You could see he was trying hard to kick the habit, one which some folks never do quit.

He always seemed to have DEEP pockets, as I recall. Bobby owned a very successful transmission shop in Virginia. When Bobby walked into the pool room, you could be sure there was going to be action. He was quite fond of Pooky and put Pooky in action a lot.

Bobby and Gene Hooker went to school together when they were kids, a little Bobby factoid that is unknown. Hooker, of course, is no stranger to action either.

Here is one picture I found, though you can hardly see Bobby. There's Pooky and Kevin West checking out Pooky's cues, and you can see a smiling Bobby Stocks in the background. If I can find another picture of him, I'll post it. RIP, Bobby! [Didn't we used to cal him "Whitey"?]

I don't know about the Whitey, but that is an interesting fact, Hooker and Stocks being familiar in that way.

Thanks for the post. From what I know they used to call him Whitey back in the day but i guess since new crowds come and go, Whitey faded out. I can recall one year at the Carolinas Open seein Bobby and Hooker bettin 500 a game one pocket for hours, or even all day all night long for days at a time. When I was first introduced to one pocket about 11-12 years ago, I remember one random day, Jose Parica walked in the door and then Bobby walks in a short time later. Bobby put me in the box for 50 agame onepocket, me getting 13-5. I had no clue about the game and still managad to squeek a couple wins, but he ended up winnin 200. Bobby was more than happy to pay 200 to watch Parica move around the table. Bobby was also in love with playing gin. He used to tell me about how he doesnt really work anymore, he just sits at the office at his shop and plays 500 a game gin all day with one of the other guys that works for him. He was a great gin player. oh how I miss the good ol days at First Break.

DoubleJ

the ratings are only for entry fees. the races are still even. if i dont know who you are or dont have an idea how you play, then i will watch you hit a rack or two and then i rate you. the B range is very wide, as well as the A range. it shouldnt be hard to tell. Good luck, and see you there!

will there be any discounts on hotels close to the pool room[/QUOTE

there are many hotels in the area, since its northern va the rates will probably not be great but I will get the closest hotel to give us a discount rate. I will post it soon once its a done deal. thanks

Yo "B" how is your chess game? I am trying to get ready to play Efren at the Open. How do you think I will do. This is Kevin.

my chess game is ok. and is getting better as the weeks go by. Efren is supposedly or recognized as a Top level chess player. beeee careful!
