Just wanted to put up a few pictures of the new, ebony Bobby Hunter cue I got. I have heard a lot of great things about Bobby's cues, and his attention to detail. I can honestly say that the reports were right. This cue is just stunning in person.

Here are some quick shots of the cue. I'll post more (and better ones!) after I've logged some time with the new magic wand!

Really Sharp!
I like the cue...
What Ferrule Material and tips are on Your cue?

Duane,

The cue has the new, 2nd generation "Point and Shoot" ferrules. The material looks like ivory, but it's ELFORYN!

The tips are now Kamui Black Mediums.

man i've always wanted one of these. i'd have gotten a stack leather wrap though. imo the lizard looks way better but the stack leather is a little more comfortable, imo

great looking cue man!!!!!!!

Yep, Elforyn it is!

Sorry to correct you but I thought you may want to know the truth. Your ferrules are not LBM. It very clear from the pics that the ferrule material is actually Elforyn.

Marcus beat you to it, but you both are correct! Sorry about the misinformation, and the post has been corrected.

Either way, it's a monster player!!!

A little more history on this cue...

Thanks for the compliments!

Here's a little background on this cue:

Bobby actually built this cue, and about 4 others in different woods, about a year and a half ago. They were turned to final size, but not finished. They have been sitting in storage while he was working on the new shop. He checked the cues out when he got into the new shop and the butts and shafts that were made for them were DEAD STRAIGHT, and Bobby said the odds of anything moving after that long is almost nill.

Unfortunately, this is also one of the LAST cues you will see with those silver rings. Bobby is making some changes to his ringwork, and the new ones will NOT be silver. I LOVE the look of ebony with the silver rings, so I pulled the trigger FAST on this one. I wasn't worried about it being a player, because I heard some great players say things like this...

Now here's a guy (Bobby Hunter) who knows how to make a good hitting cue. I should have never sold the solid ebony masterpiece I had years ago. His plain janes are the nuts. He could just make those solid ebony cues all day long and pretty soon everybody would be playing with them.

Jay is right - Bobby's cues are MONSTERS PLAYERS!!!

Thumbs Up So Far!!!!

Thanks for the compliments!

The cue is really a solid hitter. I think I might change out the tips, but I really like this one!

Hunter Cue

Hey Mike,

Super nice Hunter cue you have. Is it Bobby's standard 57.5 inch length ?

I owned one of his cues before and I just could not get used to the shorter length. With that being said it was one of the best playing cues I have ever owned. If it was a 58 or 59 inch cue I would still own it.

P.S. - Do you know if Bobby will build cues other than 57.5 inches ???

Thanks.............Paul

Hey Paul,

Yes, this one is 57.5". Bobby's philosophy is that people should play with the SHORTEST cue they can stand! This cue plays great, and the funny thing is that with the balance point about 2" further back than that Josey, the cue actually feels longer. It's weird to say it like that, but it's true.

Bobby WILL build a standard, or even up to a 60" cue. In fact, if you do a search, there was a guy selling a 60" ebony Bobby Hunter a while back.

I am VERY happy with the new cue so far. I plan on changing out the tips, but other than that, the cue is perfect!
