Bonus Ball

Not a tough crowd, just confused

Nathan response on other thread...
So you're suggesting that we take the week off, and then pay our players to go play in these events (which we would have to), to play a game that isn't the game we want to promote, to a demographic that is not our target demographic?

This is what prompted me to suggest we are not the target market. Which raised my question on who is the target market. I don't mean to be a tough crowd, and thanks for not calling me a troll, which I do not consider myself to be.

Unless I am missing something, pool players are the target market, but what you may be trying to say is US players are not your prime revenue stream target. But the statement you made above makes it sound like you're not interested in US pool players business. Which I'm sure you did not intend. That's why I was looking for some clarity.

Don't confuse me with the haters. I'm interested, that's why I ask the questions. I want both sides to succeed and get past the launch scheduling issues.

League Players

My hope is that league players will get interested I BB. I think they can relate to the team concept. I have been to a lot of amateur events with a Pro Event down the hallway. And I have never seen them interested to watch the Pro's Play.
I hope the players in town for the B.C.A. events check it out and tell their friends.
All that will happen if BB successful, Is that everyone involved will make their future events even larger. C, an you see billiard rooms looking like bowling alleys on league night. And in the future Maybe events like the Derby City Classic, Tunica, and other individual events will become bigger and better.
Maybe the league players can get to know some of the Pro's and become fans. That is what we need. Good Luck to all promoters of pool !

Gary..

I asked a friend of mine if he knew about Bonus Ball.

He said that he had heard about it on AZ Billiards.

As we were talking about the game several others in the pool room were listening and none of them had ever heard of the game.

These are guys (and one gal) who play almost every day.

For this venture to be successful the promoters of this new game need get the word out.

AZ Billiards alone is not going to have enough of an impact.

Only time will tell..

Good luck to Bonus Ball.

I think Bonus Ball could be a good league game if some rules were modified. It would be difficult to have a shot clock everywhere, but that is one of the appealing things to me. The matches don't last forever.

to a demographic that is not our target demographic?

Some quick clarification. When I said "not our target market", I'm referring to advertising and promotions.

Die hard players are the ones who attend these events. Once BB gets started they will automatically know about the league since they are heavily involved in the community already, and will decide if they want to follow it or not.

The target market *for advertising and promotions* is to bring in new fans of the game who would otherwise not know about such things. Of course have not yet started promotions and will wait another 1-2 weeks until we have a product that we're satisfied with, but the point is that we feel efforts are best spent to attract new fans, rather than on the existing fans of the game who will already find out about it through the community.

In the end we want all enthusiasts and all fans, which is why we've tried to cover all bases by not only making this game look great, but by also making it stupidly challenging for the players.
