Bonus ball

Wouldn't it be easier to just buy 3ea. 4-balls & 3ea. 5-balls and carry them with you?.,..think about it.,......[/QUOTE]

My pool hall has about 12 sets of balls most of the time that aren't being used. I could totally use them If I hadn't brought my own set. I just really need a scoreboard.

Cmon Nathan. Help a guy out. Finish the scoreboard.

No it's not the announcement you been waiting for
I think it's over so I posted that .

I find it interesting that Lee Brett just opened a thread saying that he got Larry's permission to sell the remaining 12 Bonus Ball sets in stock for $175 each. Lee is calling this offer an "amazing deal"; however, if BB does go belly up then those BB sets are actually worthless. Anyone buying a BB set under these conditions is probably being taken advantage of.

Not really, there are some people that like the game and like to play it. I know it sounds nuts but i actually know a guy who likes to play the game and he rents the set out at Best Billiards, i have seen it myself.
Then again, some people may just want them for a collectors item. People have been known to buy stranger things for sure, lol.

Not really an accurate post here ^ - the sets are 15 ball sets that are bonus ball branded (7 orange, 7 purple & 1 black) that can be used for bonus ball, 8-ball, 1-pocket, or straight pool. He says they are just testing the market to see if anyone would be interested in this type of set (no cue ball). In my opinion Larry is simply trying to pacify Lee by giving him an opportunity to make a little of the money back that he is owed.

We have said all along the sets should be full sets, so people can use them for 8 ball.. If every pool hall was playing 8 ball with orange & purple balls and the black ball, people would associate the colors and once bb was on TV they would be familiar with the colors...

Like the reds and yellows in the UK for 8 ball... If i was in charge of marketing i'd have the sets out at every pool room to get the amateurs used to the colors, and slowly integrate the game to them..

I couldnt figure out why they didnt use reds and yellows in the first place.

Yes, I think you could get a gambling match at BB.

In regards to another post about needing the scoreboard and it's too complicated, no it's not, and no you don't need a scoreboard.

You can keep score with paper, and you could have a third party if both players didn't want to try to keep score. The ball order and what the other team is shooting at can be as easy as getting 3 pieces of poster board and putting that color near the team name, or having the score keeper on their PC tell you when you ask what color they are on. The one other thing you'd need is 3 white stickers or something that you can use non permanent to mark the 3 white from the 3 black, but on a nice table I'd think you could cut some valley pocket markers.

IMHO great game to gamble at

I was asking for money like gambling matches

Bonusball has the best format IMO out of all pool games for Vegas to put on the board.

It's easy to handicap the overall game and there are plenty of prop bets to keep the betters in action. If any game is going to make it to the board in Vegas anytime soon I think it will be BB.

It is a new game, give it time and Im sure we will see action in the poolrooms too if it sticks around.

I think the players are being honest when they say they love the game.

You're going to get shot for that Satori.

I'll be right behind you. :grin-square:

Barry Bremner told me he thought Bustamante was an amazing Bonus Ball player. THAT WAS BASED ON A PROFESSIONAL TOURNAMENT HE HELD IN CANADA. It included Francisco Bustamante, Shane Van Boening, Johnny Archer, Nick Varner, Corey Deuel, Charlie Williams, John Schmidt and Erik Hjorleifson. Statistically, Bustamante was miles ahead of everyone and he learned the game in 20 minutes! Archer was second and Van Boening was third. Nick Varner was a strong fourth.

Bustamante never did play in the WPBL. Lucky him! Barry went screaming that there was no money to everybody, because he knew there was no money. He said Nathan knew it too but kept it to himself. Of course, many people got burned by this charade that they played on the pool world. Nobody listened to Barry and he got barred and banished for his honesty. He smelled a rat. The rat was the big cheese! :D
