alright i need to spend about 40 bucks at platinum billiards (reason is discussed in another thread) so i'm thinking about a book. any suggestions, i was thinking about
-A Mind For Pool by Phil Cappelle
-The 8 ball Book by the Monk
-I came to Win by the Monk
-Play your Best eight Ball by Phil Cappelle

anyone's experience with any of these or other suggestions would be appreciated. thanks

Cappelle's 8-ball book has a ton of great info for just about any level player.

If your looking to get better at 8-ball you can't go wrong with Phil's book. It has bar box in it also I think. Johnnyt

'Play your best 8-ball' is well worth getting. Loads of good stuff in it.

Agreeing with everyone here, so my post is borderline worthless. You really can't go wrong with any of the Capelle books. They're the best written, easiest to follow instructional books for pool.

...except where Phil says: "The cue must remain level throughout the range of the stroke." Completely incorrect...the only time the cue is level (or needs to be), in a pendulum swing, is at contact with the CB. Other than that, pretty good information. A better 8-ball book, imo, especially for barbox 8-ball, is R. Givens book, The Eightball Bible.
