Boone County 9-Ball Open, Columbia MO

Would the following 2 players be allowed?
AJ Clemens
Don Crump

Let me know, thanks.

Yep. I actually just called Don today to let him know about the tournament. I don't know exactly where AJ resides; as long as he can prove MO residency, he is welcome. Basically, if they have been told by Phil Spudich that they can't play in the state amateur 8-ball and 9-ball tourneys, then they can't play in this tourney. I think that is a pretty short list. Harriman and maybe a couple of others.

AJ would not be on a list with Danny H.

Thanks, he lives in STL and does have a Missouri ID, but no driver's license. I have to drive him to tournaments.

I will let him know, thanks for the info.

I think Don prefers bar tables.

He may be going to Kirksville.

I will call him too, he may change his mind?

Yeah, Don said he's going to Kirksville. He is definitely more of a barbox player at the moment. Seems like that's what all the tourneys are on these days, so I can't blame him for going where the $$ is.

Aaron

How many players do you anticipate?

What type of turnout are you guys looking for? How many players.?

No idea. I just put that question to Les, and he said since they didn't ask people to rsvp he really wasn't sure. I'm sure they will be very pleased if they get a full field of 32.

Hey Troy, good to see you on AZB. I also heard Kirksville is expecting some weather over the next 36 hours, so that may cause a few to change their plans and come to Columbia instead. Yes, there is supposed to be a calcutta in Columbia as well. Will probably see you there.

they got 16 in millersburg a couple weeks ago

Only 16 at Millersburg 2 weeks ago. But that was on diamond bar tables.
This is on big tables. My decision will be where the snow line breaks.

So it will be a game time decision. But, I do like the 1 p.m. start. Can sleep in and still make it.

how much snow you get out West?

How bad are the roads Hwy 70 close to Columbia?:)

Hi Mark,

Do you know the results? I almost came down but played in a local tournament instead (worked out pretty well to )

Thanks,

Darryl

I know that

Aaron S put AJ in the losers bracket, AJ beat a few players, got 20 back.
When we left
Aaron was undefeated.
Boone, Sam Walsh and one other guy that same Walsh was playing with each having one loss were left.

I would think Aaron will post the final results, they had 20 players and a bunch of buybacks. Nice room, good staff and ownership.

Will definitely be back.

If I had to guess I would say Aaron won, he was shooting well for a player that I have not seen, and I cannot believe that I had not see him yet.

Troy had beeritis and did not show up.

Sorry for the late response; I wasn't on my computer much this weekend.

We had 20 people for the tournament, which wasn't too bad considering we had a bit of snow on the roads as well as a couple of other tournaments north of us. As Mark mentioned, there were a lot of buybacks, and I believe the tournament took 8 rounds of play to complete. I have emailed Molly requesting the exact results and payouts, but I will post what I know at this time. The calcultta had $220 in it, and paid out 50%, 30%, 20%.

1st Aaron Stoker - $290 & Trophy
2nd Sam Waltz - $? & Trophy
3rd Stuart (last name escapes me at the moment)
4th ?
5th ?
6th ?

I will post the rest of the info as soon as I get the email from Molly.

I had the pleasure of meeting Mark Patrick, Sam Waltz, and DJ Burton for the first time at this tournament. It was nice to see you guys there, and we really appreciate the fact that you all traveled a pretty good distance to come participate in the event. Hope you had a good time, and we look forward to seeing you in Columbia again sometime soon.

Just a reminder that the next 10-ball ring game tournament is tomorrow, Tuesday Feb 9th.
