Forgive me if this is a stupid question- I am just curious. I'm not the most knowledgeable about some of the finer topics of this game and cue maintenance and such. I just bought a new Jacoby cue- the first spankin'-new cue i've ever had. I am going to go knock some balls with it here in a few days, but I was wondering if anything needs to be done to the shaft at all before playing with it. I've noticed topics like burnishing, waxing, etc. for shafts but was just curious if I should do anything, or if doing anything would even prevent/help issues such as chalk residue stain, etc. in the first place. I just want to properly take care of my new baby from the start. I used to not worry so much about this stuff, but now that I'm a bit older and more "refined" from the last time I bought a cue, I remember all the things my dad taught me about taking care of your stuff. haha! Thanks!
