I have been looking at the new Segen cues for quite some time. Everything that I have read says that they come with a Elforyn joint and a Concentric pin. Was the cue that you have built with the 516 x 14 stainless joint or was it changed?

I've known Evan Clarke for a good while as a dealer. I went to Las Vegas for the VNEA Championships at the end of May this year. For my personal area here in Minnesota, a lot of players like the Italian Pebble wraps as it's the best all around leather wrap that players prefer here.

Evan pulled out a handful of cues that had the Italian Pebble leather wraps on them and I purchased several cues from him on the spot.

I guess, since being a Schon Dealer for so long, I really didn't notice at the time that this particular cue had a stainless steel 5/16 x 14 joint and matching piloted shaft. It just didn't really pop to me that it was different.

So, it was not special ordered at all, just one of a handful of cues with the particular leather wrap he had with him and I wanted to get a lower end priced Segen, a middle of the road (which this one is) and a higher dollar Segen to come home with me.

At the time, it was the nicest middle of road cue he had left. It's an extremely beautiful cue and the other reason I didn't think much of it is that Evan pulled out his personal cue that had the concentric pin in it and let me hit a great number of balls with it and he also had another cue with the stainless steel joint 5/16 x 14 thread with him that again he let me hit 40 to 50 shots with.

I have no reason to doubt this cue hits just a great as the one I played with in vegas.

Thanks for your question and hopefully I have given the answer to explain the cue.

Thanks for the reply Chuck.

That is interesting, maybe a potential for the stainless joint to become a collector. I have acquired a a Segen cue recently and I am really enjoying it. Very nice hitting cue, so nice that I would like to add another to my collection.

Chuck, Is the weight adjustable? 17.1 is on the heavy side for me on that butt. Thanks.

To answer you shamadam.

The weights can be changed, but, they are glued in and I don't mess with heating a cue bolt.

Sorry for the delay in answering, but, I will just bump the thread and get into policy problems.

Any questions, please email me at

They aren't glued in. I own an S34 from this batch. Evan doesn't glue the bolts.
