Brand New Skip Weston For Sale (PRICE LOWERED)!!!

I have a brand new never chalked never even test hit (unless Skip himself did) cue. It is a 2006 cue. It has four points and four veneers. The points and butt are made from an awesome piece of curly Hawaiian Koa and the forearm is Curly Maple. There is an Ivory hoppe ring in the butt. The joint is piloted ivory. The cue weight is 18.9 oz. It also comes with custom joint protectors also made by Skip from Hawaiian koa that have rings to match the shafts and forearm.

$1450

Wow

Those color combinations are incredible, probably one of my favorite Skip's yet. Good luck with the sale.

that HAS TO BE the nicest Skip I have seen yet! nice work Skip! I never tried an ivory joint. is that better than an ivory ferrule? I hope so! I no longer like ivory ferrules

I actually prefer SS joints but have found ivory to be a great joint as well. I agree on the ivory ferrules. Give me old micarta or melamine any day.

Hey Koop, does piloted ivory hit softer than piloted SS? I have never hit a piloted ivory, have hit a flat faced ivory, and I liked it.

Not to hijack your thread,
Thanks

Well, since I have this particular joint on my Skip, I will pipe in. I would not say that it hits softer, but it is different from the SS joints I have experienced. There is a certain amount of feedback you get from ivory that I do not feel you get with SS, as a rule. I will also venture to guess that unless otherwise specified, those are ivory ferrules. Skip really likes to combo the two whenever possible. I have to tell you that going from a flat-faced wood/wood joint and linen-based ferrules to this combination took me some getting used to. I like it, now that I have....and many here swear by it.

It is a gorgeous cue with that koa, which likes to curl and flame...check out some koa guitars, and you'll see what I mean. But I still think mine's prettier!! :D

Hey bud,

Lisa beat me to the punch but I would tend to agree with her. I really like them both and seriously could play with either with no adjustment needed. Now, ivory ferrules are a whole different animal but like you said, sorry for the hijacking and best of luck on the sale.

Yes the ferrules are ivory as well. Skip wouldn't have it any other way with the ivory joint.

theres more...........

Just to add to the mix .................some cuemakers just do an ivory sleeve on there flatfaced joints. While some other cuemakers make there flatfaced ivory joints a solid piece of ivory. I think they all feel different and produce a different hit.................................................great looking cue by the way...........

Thanks everyone for the interest. Not looking for any trades. Wish I could keep this one actually. Still for sale.

I know somebody wants a brand new skip and doesn't want to wait 8 months to get one.

The cue has just has an amazing piece of Koa in it. And anyone whose owned one knows of Skip's craftsmanship. With that said....the secondary market appears to be very flat right now. Even those cuemakers' cues that normally move very quickly, are being very slow to move, and for nowhere near what they would normally bring. It is definitely a buyer's market right now.
Skip is one of those underrated cuemakers, much like Jensen and a couple of others, that just do not fair well currently on resale. I suspect, at some point that will change, but when is anyone's guess.

No kidding. I used to see these cues sell left and right and thought this would go real quick but I guess not. Maybe I'll hold on to it and post it back up for sale later. It's just hard to look at this awesome cue and not go play with it. Don't know how much longer I can hold back.

Tell me about it...the market's dead right now. My own Skip for sale has been languishing for over a month, at a price that I thought would have it ripped outa my hands, lol.

-Roger (Skip is probably the most underated cuemaker out there today)
