Break Cue Weight

Did a search on break cue weight and read several threads about going lighter with your break cue than your shooting cue and also going heavier than your shooting cue. I'm breaking now with a cue that's the same weight as my playing cue which is 19 oz. I have a Super Pro tip on the break cue. I'm thinking about buying a regular break cue and think I'd prefer a heavier one. I've tried a 17 oz cue and also a 21 oz cue and I feel more comfortable with the 21 oz cue when breaking. Any opinions on going with a 25 oz cue with either a Samsara or White Diamond tip?

Different for everyone.

Some will wield a lighter cue faster with no loss of precision and some the same but with heavier.

You need to find the one that allows you to add power without sacrificing accuracy, what ever that may be. May even be that the same weight of your player is the one.

Or......if your not looking for the 'big' break that you need no more than your playing cue regardless.

24oz baby!

I have been using a 24oz for a break cue for about 8 years. People thought I was crazy. (Well they still do). I found out for me that I didn't have to swing as fast, which increased my accuracy, and get the most powerful break. I liked it so much that I made my playing cue 24oz also. This was 8 years ago. Now Earl Strickland is doing the same thing. Well his is 23oz but you know what I mean!
