Break/ jump tip conversion?

I recently bought a Fury j/b cue, and I was wondering if I could take the phenolic down to a flat surface and put a Samsara break/jump tip on it, or if I should replace the whole ferrule and then put a tip on it. I would rather go with the first option if possible, but either will work. I do like a phenolic ferrule on my b/j cue though! Thanks in advance for any input. :thumbup:

The ferrule as is is good enough to take a tip, just go flat and put the tip of your choice.....is a waste of time to replace the ferrule if you already have a phenolic on
Must people will agree with this option, have been doing for years

Just do what I did ...

I have a J&J break/jump with 2 shafts. Since BCA outlawed phenolic tips on break sticks, I just had my cuemaker put a leather 'super dud' on one of my shafts. So, now, I have a leather tip on one and a phenolic tip on the other.

I thought it would be ok to go ahead and just throw a leather tip on the phenolic ferrule.

I've done this very thing, except it was a Samsara j/b tip on a flattened phenolic ferrule/tip on an Action j/b cue. A year later and the tip has yet to come off and it still breaks and jumps as good (actually better somewhat due to the better control of the leather tip) as the original combination did.

Go with option #1.

I have a fury j/b. Flattened the ferrule and put a white diamond on it. Bought another shaft...flattened it and put a samsara on it. Both are great tips for breaking/jumping. The WD breaks a little harder, but the samsara feels a little better and seems to control the cb a little better. However with either tip you best stay very close to center cb when breaking!
