i was wondering if predator had a special break shaft for the BK or Bk2. or is it a 314-2 with a break tip? if it is a 314-2, those of you who have tried it, how does it break? i have a spare 314-2 that i was thinking of putting a hard tip on, and was wondering if it would break the same as the BK or BK2? what opinions do you guys have? thanks in advance,
manuel

I had a BK2, that I put a Sumo WB tip on, and it broke like a monster. Transfered the strokes speed/energy into the cueball very efficiently.
I regret selling that one.

Manual,

I think the BK shaft is different. I know it has a thick pad on it, and the ferrule will mushroom without it.

There are a couple of good players in Oklahoma City that have a new break shaft by the OB Cues people. They are using them on their BK2 butts and loving it. I know it has a leather tip on it, but it is really hard.

Hello,

The BK2 uses a completely different shaft with a much stiffer taper. A 314-2 would not break the same as the BK2 shaft, the new FAT shaft with a phenolic tip would do much better. Try and sell your spare and pick up a BK2 shaft from Seyberts or something. I wouldn't break with my 314.

take care,

J.W.

The Bk Shaft Is Different Than The Standard Predator Shaft.

I Like Breaking With My Regular Predator, But It Is Certainly Different Than The Bk Shaft.

I have a BK2 shaft (phenolic tip) I use on a Lucasi butt. Based on my experience with it compared to a 314 &/or Z.. no comparison. the BK2 is much stiifer and hits 2-3x harder with much less effort.
