Has anyone bought any blanks or used these specialty break shafts?
I was toying with idea of getting an OB break shaft for my butt for breaking.
Basically I have a break cue, just looking to get a new shaft for it but is it really worth it.

I mean, do you guys really think one of these shafts makes a difference even at a matser level of play?

i really liked the one that i tried. i tried an OB break shaft on a regular cue butt. it performed well. nice thick taper and tip made sure the shaft didn't buckle even a little and the thick tip made hitting center ball way easier. the one i tried was an ob break shaft with a samsara break tip.

i'm a little short on cash and even if i had the cash there are a few things for my playing set up i'd like to get but if ihad all that taken care of and still had cash left over i'd pick up an ob break shaft and put it on a custom j/b butt.

Well I was thinking about getting a new break cue for a while now and still nothing out there that convinced me to drop the cash no one yet.

Was thinking about a getting a custom butt made and then having an OB break shaft made for it.

In the end I don't think I am going to do it but I was toying with the idea.

I guess the point is how much of a difference does a special break shaft like an OB or Predator or Mezz really make.

Just really tough to buy without trying it first.

I would just use a reg shaft that fits a butt you have! solid maple is ok!! put an ivorine 4 ferrule and one of the New break tips - bkHard , buffalo . or laminated. Its you stroke that brakes the balls. Do some wrist curl exercises and you will not beieve the difference! in accuracy and pure powerful stroke. pm I have some workouts desighted for this- cj Wiley does this wrist stuff too read hisblog. mark
 
The new Steve Klapp OG shaft I had him make recently breaks better than anything else I've tried. Don't know if it is intended or not, but it works great.
