Had to vote accuracy then speed. Plus I break bad. Losing a set to a scratch sucks.

Assuming I have been breaking every other game in a manner to give myself the best opportunity to win, I break the same.

If you break differently in an important game...you should begin to consider all games AS important.

Breakshot

I've got that sick ass break where the cueball stops on the screws in the center of the table, so I try to do that every time so that I have the best opportunity at an open run. I feel like when I just smash em' it seems like more often than not I end up scratching or somehow end up staring at the 7 ball or something.

Sometimes I will break different on the hill but it also depends on my opponents score.

I will use whatever break has been working so far (assuming I've found one that worked, LOL), but I will also concentrate on hitting them a tad softer to offset my normal tendency to overcook the hill break. It's frustrating to blow your chance at closing out the set by sending the cb off the table on the break.

Agreed....if I'm way up I break as hard as I can just to drive the point home. If it's hill hill then I break normal.

i break a little softer than usual, so that i can focus on keeping the cb on the table .

usually down towards the end of a match i tend to over juice it and send the cb flying off the table.....

which hurts.

the only time i'll change my break is if it's not working at all that day. otherwise it stays the same always.
