Hey Sarah,

I wanted to say hi, and ask, I remember you mentioning that you are using one of the Mezz break cues.

Has there been a tournament that came up and they didn't allow you to use your break cue, cause they thought the tip would damage the cueball?

thxs for your time

Hi J., the Sonic tip that Mezz uses is actually legal to use. It is higher percentage leather. I was sure to ask about that when the rule enforcement started. I haven't run into any tournaments so far that have questioned the tip. Hopefully people don't run into the tip problem too often!

Good to know that about the Mezz break cues, ok then... have you heard of anyone on the Wpba that couldn't use her break cue cause it had a Phenolic tip or ferulle?

I am just wondering if there is any enforcement of the BCA's rules...

thxs for your time Sarah...

So far there hasn't been anything about the rule on the WPBA. From what I have heard the BCA rule is only going to be inforced on the national level ie. Vegas. But it will be allowed on the local and regional level. Perhaps someone that knows better could clarify??

Sarah

Yeah, that's right. I play BCA and that seems to be how they're doing it. In Vegas the rule will be strictly enforced, however locally the operators have the choice of allowing them. I'm not entirely positive about regional events.

I was looking at that PBII. I read that it has a washer weight system for balance. I can see that it unscrews for that purpose.

Does it double as a jump cue? If not was jump cue do you use?

Also, I loved your commentating of Shane's match vs Corey this weekend. You said shane's break cue was heavy. Do you know the weight or could you estimate how heavy it is?

You can try to use the PBII as a jump cue, but I don't recommend it. It isn't balanced right and the tip is a little too soft for jumping. That is my opinion though. I am not the greatest jumper in the world. I use a Mezz Air Drive as a jump cue. I just got it last weekend and I haven't had a chance to use it yet.

Thanks for the compliment on the commentating. If I had to guess I would say Shane's break cue is around 23 ounces. I know there is a weight limit on how heavy a cue can legally be. I know that is the heaviest cue I have ever lifted. I wasn't joking when I said my arm would be tired if I broke with it!
