Breaking from which side ?

I know there is nothing new under the sun and this has probably already been asked. If so.. sorry I missed it.
I don't know how to set up polls but I was wondering which side of the table do right or left hand players prefer when breaking. Maybe someone with polling skills can set this up .
8-ball I break from the right side. 9 and 10 -ball I break from the left. Any advantage for either ?

I let the rack tell me. I prefer to break from the right. It gives me more room to cue (I'm left handed shooter). I look at the rack first though.

Right handed....prefer to break from either the left or center, depending on the game...

Guess I was looking for preference if there was one . I understand what seems to work one day doesn't another so I would again go back to preference.

Left-handed.. 8b - mostly slightly to the left of center at the line.. 9b - without reading, mostly from about 5 or 6 inches from the right rail at the line. I'll break closer to the rail if the table isn't as fast or on a 9ft.

Definitely in 9-ball you gotta just go where the balls are dropping, as blackballed said.

In 8-ball I never have good productivity breaking from the edge, so I stay pretty close to center. It's harder to keep whitey out of a side pocket, but I find I make balls far more often.

All that being said, though, I do feel like it's a little easier for me to find the center of the 1-ball (and thus break more solidly) when I am on the right side. I am right handed and right eye dominant, BTW, and this is probably just a mental issue... which I have plenty of.

That's exactly what I am.
When I practise,I work on the shots I hate.I would rather cut a ball
to the left with right-hand english so I shoot a lot of the opposites.
Don't pamper yourself.

There should be a hot-line for people like us:(

Breaking

If it is rack your own, I mostly break on the right side (I am right handed), but if they are not falling, then I switch to the left side to see if it happens to be a 'left handed table'. Although I mostly use 1 or 2 breaks, I have about 6-8 different breaks (3-4 on each side) for each game.

im a right handed player and i prefer to break from the right side of the table. it is rare for me to explore the left side, unless i have breakin dry. this is where i feel comfortable. hope this helps

I am right handed and I break from the left on the headstring line 1 diamond from the rail, whether 8 ball or 9 ball this seems to work best for me...as far as pocketing balls and cue ball control.... By the Break speed app I am doing between 24 and 27 mph consistantly.
