Depends on the break, I do the 8ball break with my I-2 when I am trying for the 8ball; but that is not a "breaking force" shot. Breaking cues are for breaking; there is no way that I can hit a pack as hard with my shooter as I can with either of my breakers so it comes down to why are you breaking with it?
Had a buddy of mine years ago tell me that a power breaker "shattered" a 314 original many years ago but I didn't witness that myself. I broke the back 2in off the back of my NG-03, cracked part of the joint on my D-1(that's why I sold it), popped off & cracked a few tips when doing this before I learned that shooters are for shooting and breakers are for breaking.
Lots of fine players break with their shooter; but from a protection of your shooter, wear on the tip of your shooter, performance of a breaker when breaking vs. performance of a shooter when breaking when breaking standpoint I personally don't think it's a good idea. Now if you are not a power-breaker it makes no difference go ahead.
