I'm sure grady is the nicest guy in the world. I have alot of respect for him as a player and a person but I couldn't stand his commentary. He's commentating on the 2001 US Open finals I have on Accustats. I didn't like it when he plugged his own stuff in the match. I also felt like there was too much dead air in between shots. If anything I prefer Dilberto to all of them.
I think Incardona is a great announcer. I don't mind Wych, but I'd like to see the guy who was calling matches alongside Mitch Laurance for the BCA Open do some Accu-Stats matches (was it Mark Tadd? Damn, I'm getting old!). He was very informative, has a good voice (no accent and no teeth whistling, unlike Grady), and was very personable, in my opinion. Course, I'd love to see Sid doing commentary in the States, but that isn't going to happen....

Bill Incardona is IMO Accu-stats best commentator with the possible exception of Danny Dileberto. The best combination is Bill and Danny. Danny is just such an outstanding character. Intelligent, well spoken and entertaining. He has enough control over his own ego to control Bill Incardona's and IMO they make an outstanding pair of commentators.
If the Jim you're referring to is Jimmy Mataya, he is not only dull he is an absolutely horendous commentator. Pat Fleming either really likes his style for some inexplicable reason or is just a very good friend of his.
Grady is a so-so commentator. He brings a lot of experience and knowledge to the equation but he does do a LOT of self-promotion. He and Bill Incardona are an impossible mix, they both have egos as big as a house and neither wants to back down from the other. I suspect Pat Fleming had reached an impasse where he had to choose between them.

The best I can figure he is a concession to the international crowd. OMG, he is awful, if I hear the term "breaking off" one more time...
I think the combination of Danny D and Billy would make a good team. Jimmy Mataya was horrible when he worked with Danny, I hope they replace Jimmy at DCC this year. I don't know who he was trying to be, but a good announcer, is one thing he wasn't. I love the game of pool, but if I had to listen to Mataya call the match, I think I would quit listening. One more thing, BCN had a great thing going for them with the US OPEN, but they sure are blowing it with the Mizerak thing canceled...changing the ring game from Wed to Thursday and for saying they are adding more matches to the scedule, but failing to provide those matches Tuesday night, and I thought that DCC was great for the $10.00, but the $40.00 they charge for this event is surely overpriced at this point. BCN needs to do something quick in the favor of the people that paid the $40.00 upfront, or they are going to blow a good thing. I guess this is just one persons opinion.....
Danny D. is the best commentator along with Incardona, Buddy Hall and Nick Varner (they only did a few commentaries on a few tapes). If Grady didn't butt heads with Billy so much and stopped doing the self promotion of his stuff then it would work. I would like to see no commentary on most of these tapes, I really don't like someone describing every single shot, I think most everybody know how to play pool just a little bit. That Jim Wych just has to go.... Mark Wilson is pretty decent as well.... Just my 2 cents....
