There are so many world class 9 Ballers out there that we will never know who is the best with out some long winner breaks 9 and 10 Ball sets like Tar Matches used to provide.

Who would not like to see a 9 and 10 Ball shoot out pitting Shaw against Ko Pin Yi, Chang Lin, Shane, Wu, Kaci and who ever I for got.

Matches where the ref treated all players the same and all players agreed to and know the rules.

Matches with an instant replay camera.

Dang I wish I was a millionaire and could promote the matches.

That TAR platform, IMO, was not cost effective, unfortunately. In order to be successful as a business, it must have an ROI.

Though many of us pool aficionados would watch pool for hours on end, the target audience out there is not large enough to make a profit unless, of course, the fees charged were commensurate with the effort put into it.

Me personally, I don't care to watch pool on my computer or TV for hours on end. A few hours, yes, but the longer races are not attractive to me. And I do like pool a lot.

It is a myth that long races are needed to sort out the best. The race to eleven format at the US Open was plenty enough to deliver the cream to the top. The best player in the world right now is Jayson Shaw, and he doesn't need to play any long races to prove it.

Shaw needs to play a race to 25-30 vs Big Ko, Wu, and Shane.

He beat Ko 11-10 in a highly controversial match and didn't play Wu and Shane.

I think in a dedicated studio it's can't work. Strapped to a "homeroom" pool hall it can. Look at Accu-Stats and Sandman billiards type arrangement. This can work. Pool hall provides the venue. Streamer has cameras or at least camera mounts and cabling in place. Event happens. Streamer drops in the computers and cameras and off we go. Dedicated rents and such are impossible to fade.

Towards the end TAR had the formula down. What worked. How much and the type of players that pay the bills. The problem is that there is still a lot of free content out there to fade. The internet made and now is breaking the porn industry.

Wait......did you just say there is free porn on the internet?? BRB.......

Action matches work. Just keep it at a pool venue and a cheap stream can be done for very little cost.

Look at the Dennis Orcullo 1p matches. About 8hr day for 4 days!

Race to 30 9b/10b can be done in a single day. Do it when the players are already at a location and so traveling expenses can be avoided.
