Broke my thumb.

Yes I guess I feel a little like fast Eddie. Only it wasn't Turk I did it myself:frown:. It is my grip hand and it isn't a bad break but it is a set back for a few weeks. I will tell you one thing your thumb is very important for many things, and gripping a cue is no exception:o.

Sorry to hear that!

I broke my index finger on my right (dominant) hand at the second knuckle. I didn't play for a few weeks but thankfully I could bend it far enough to have a full grip on the cue after that. Broke it in November... it's still healing. The problem with being a student with a broken finger is that the best treatment is to elevate it about the heart... I can't really do that in class too often - LOL.

Hope it heals soon!

Thanks I have fabricated a cast / protector for it out of a piece of PVC pipe just so I don't bang it on things as much, That helps a ton and I slips off so I can run a mouse or a cue;)

At least this is not a sarcasm thread to my broken pinky. Heal soon and heal good man. Take care of it. It must hurt like crap to break a thumb. Any chance of an interesting story behind the broken thumb? lol

aw that sucks man... you never really realize how important your thumbs are or how much you actually use them in everyday tasks until you can't use one of them.

I was inspecting a bike path we were about to open for the season and I found a piece of strap iron that had been screwed to a bridge rail and was sticking into the lane of travel about a foot. I did not have a screw driver so I grabbed it to bend it down until I could return with a tool. When I just about had it bent enough it snapped and my thumb with all of my weight behind it slammed into the bridge rail. The only interesting thing about it was when I first saw it just before I grabbed it I said out loud this is going to hurt someone.:o

sometimes it's a curse . . .

Sometimes it is a curse to always be right! :D :D :D

Sorry buddy, all I can do is laugh. I've never broken a thumb but I have torn them up pretty bad and not been able to use them for a few weeks. Having usable opposing thumbs is right up there with walking erect on my list of favorite things!
