Broken Eddie Laube shaft. Worth repairing?

So. Someone accidently got my friends Eddie Laube Jr. cue out of it's case, and it ended up in the hands of my 6 year old grandson - who instantly snapped the top shaft in the boards under the pool table (I assume trying to hang from it). We are so sick!

My question, is it worth getting the shaft repaired? It's a clean brake with no splinters.

Or are we better off to try and sell it as is?

Just reuse the original rings and get a new shaft made to match.

In the the mid-late 60's I onwed the Same Exact cue by Laube!

It was concidered a 'Fancy' Eddie Laube cue!

I believe Bruce 'The Ghost' Perry also had that model cue!

Laube was one of the first cue-makers of that era to charge $300.00+ for a cue/2 shafts and with a 'Unique Solid Brass/Reverse Pin Joint'!

They would be a great choice for a new shaft.
