Bronco's Ron Smith Sporting the Hustlin' Brand

did you read my post above yours?
you don't suggest any new policy?
i'd be willing to wager if the "fight " thread got moved here we would get just as many complaints.
if we need to come up with more clearly defined policies then we need to move foward doing that and quit worrying about this one single thread.

No I didn't see your post until after I posted mine. As far as suggesting guidelines I feel there are probably others better suited to do that than me but if I can make one suggestion I think LESS moderation would be better. FWIW I have no problem with the "fight" thread being on the main forum, I just think that this one and the "Shooting Gallery" thread sould not have been moved. JMO.

BTW your avatar looks strangely like Jimbo........I don`t know the circumstances behind your avatar but I`m sure it`s all in good fun, right?

when you say "we" i get the feeling you arent exactly talking about "us"..im guessing the "we" would include you Mr. Wilson and Mike."we" dont really have much say around here as im seeing it. of course being blind in one eye and cant see out of the other i do tend to not see alot.i could care less if you move ,deleted or put post where the sun dont shine but its "you" who make policies not "WE" .a good policy.. be consistant in whatever you do.i would also suggest that maybe if you find a post npr you might PM the person talk it out first come to some understanding and possibly avoid something like this in the future..
when i say "we" i mean the whole board of posters. mike tries to make it where people would want to come here - i'm sure he would be more than happy to listen to suggestions on how to improve the site.
it's very easy to criticize but as far as being consistent that would be very hard to do since everyone has their own ideas on what should be where and mods can't be on the board all the time. as far as sending a pm to the poster i think that is a good idea but not that it would have to be answered and come to some agreement. who knows how long that would take. but you could take into consideration their response. but as i posted above i have no plans to move anymore posts out of the main forum until a more clearly defined policy is made known. i think that would go a lot farther toward avoiding something like this in the future.

A football player wearing a baseball cap has nothing to do with pool no matter what brand the cap is.

Thank you for your opinion, Blackjack. The baseball cap the football player was wearing had the logo of the Hustlin' USA Clothing brand. The first time I ever saw this Hustlin' USA Clothing brand was at the 2003 Derby City Classic. Young Gun Tony "Tex-Rex" Chohan from California was sporting the Hustlin' brand, and he brought a few items with him to Louisville and sold out completely because of the popularity of the Hustlin' logo.

Since January of 2003, I have seen the Hustlin' USA Clothing brand vendor booth at many high-profile events. At the 2004 Super Billiards Expo in Valley Forge, PA, as an example, players and spectators, young and old, fat and thin, male and female, bought the Hustlin' USA Clothing brand, and the items went like hotcakes. The vendor sold out of many of the items at the conclusion of the event. :)

There were several articles written about the Hustlin' USA Clothing brand in the pool magazines, one of them being InsidePOOL. The clothing line has been such a huge success that it is now being offered in Europe.

Since AzBilliards is THE most visited pool-related website on the net, industry members will occasionally advertise in the form of a banner. The Hustlin' USA Clothing brand is a familiar site to the "regulars" who read this forum, and it is my understanding the the owner sponsors some California pool players from time to time.

The Washington Redskins season has nothing to do with pool, no matter what effect some might feel the IPT has on the player wearing the cap.

I have no idea what you are referring to, Blackjack, about the effect of an IPT player wearing a baseball cap. Is it possible that you associated the IPT with this thread because I initiated it? :(

This thread was referring to an NFL professional football player named Rod Smith who plays for the Broncos. He was giving an interview on prime time TV before the play-off games yesterday and was sporting the Hustlin' USA Clothing brand on a black-and-white baseball cap.

I've had threads moved and deleted on Azbilliards and its no big deal. The decision was in the hands of the moderators. Regardless of where a post is placed on this site, if it is useful and informative, and substantial, people will see it and respond to it accordingly. The moderators have a large volume of posts and threads to monitor every day. Give them a break and give them some support and a little bit of respect for the thankless job that they do - and start talking about POOL... not baseball caps, Kevin Trudeau's money and The Washington Redskins.

Blackjack, I will continue to post about POOL, baseball caps, Kevin Trudeau's money [?], Washington Redskins, and any other topic on AzBilliards Discussion Forum. Whether it is in the Main Forum or the Non-Pool-Related Forum is of no significance to me.

Here's a snapshot of Keith McCready and Tony, the guy responsible for Hustlin' USA Clothing brand, taken at the Super Billiards Expo last year.

i agree 100% but again, i think clearly defining policy in the first place would make it easier to have less moderation

the avatar was all in as good a fun as you can have with jimbo on postboards. i don't know that i would call it fun :)

Here is a great shot of California Young Gun Tony Chohan sporting the Hustlin' USA Clothing brand, posing with Keith McCready. The black-and-white baseball cap that Tony Chohan is wearing is the same one which was worn by NFL Broncos football player Rod Smith on prime time TV, the topic of this thread. :)

is there a policy about whether a post is pool related or not? not that i know of.
a lot of people complain in the main forum when non-pool related posts pop up. so we were just trying to move those to npr. i dont think it should be looked on as a bad thing.
but if someone wants to suggest a policy or another forum or better ways of arranging forums i'm sure mike will listen.
i guess until there is a clearly defined policy that people understand i will not move threads out of the main forum. :)

That is what this really all about for me, setting some guidlines in place. I have seen people say "I played in league last night", and then write about 4 paragraphs of NPR BS.

Once again, I do not look at topics in the NPR as "bad", I just think this thread was relevant.

I think that putting guidelines in place would be the responsibility of the site owner(Mike aka AZHOUSEPRO) or the moderators(Iconcue & Mr Wilson)

Thanks for doing what you do!

First of all David, I appreciate your opinion as well as everything you have done or in the process of doing for pool;)

David, would you agree that this thread belongs in the main thread more than some that has been in the MF or in the MF now? ie. "Best Pool Hall Fights"?

That is what my point is. I would just like to see some guidelines in place.

Tony Hargain and Tony Chohan are regulars at Hardtimes in Sacramento.

I've even helped Tony H out at the BCA show a couple of years ago.. he didn't have to pack much up when the week long event was over.

Tony's products are even sold on AZBilliards store.

Seeing the 'HustlinUSA' logo on a lot of 'Pool' pictures by Diane Hoppe is a good thing for Pool and a very good thing for Tony.

I can't believe that you guys are giving a great poster like JAM such a hard time. You have made a mountain out of a molehill.

Hi,
There was no molehill to start with. I thought that the post was appropriate to the Mainform. If u hang around here some more time you will see the true colors of some.Bitterness is an understatement.

I don't have a problem ...

with it being in the Main Forum. I think anything that
is 'Pool related' is of interest to its members. Certainly,
other sports celebrities taking an interest in Pool in some
way holds interest for most of us.

I always find Jam's posts informative, insightful, and
interesting, plus all of the great pictures she posts.

As my late grandfather would say...

Sometimes people just go around peeing in others cornflakes.

*shrug*

I just wonder if those shirts come in midget sizes?

Shorty

Personally I think you are all missing the point.
The fact that Rod Smith would wear a Hustlin' brand hat is not at all suprising.
Professional atheletes will wear anything that will in some way show how big and mighty their egos are.
If he could have found a shirt that said " I am the best at every damn thing" he would have worn that too.
The statement he was making with this hat was not even close to pool related.
However, in JAM's defense the thread is.

Looks like some rip-off competition!

Declared as “the next biggest name in Hip-Hop” by Source Magazine, rap artist, Renegade Foxxx, has made a name for himself in the Hip-Hop industry from New York to L.A. and he has everyone’s ear to the streets with his debut album “Still Hustlin,” that dropped recently.

Collaborates on Foxxx’s new album include notable Hip-Hop artists such as Trina, E-40, Bone Crusher, The Youngbloodz, and Petey Pablo, who all come together to produce an album full of club bangers and heavy hitters.

Picked up by Universal Records thanks to the buzz of the street and saturated mixtapes across the country, Renegade Foxxx is more than poppin’ collars, he’s burning the midnight oil to tell his story. Immediately ready to share his fame and fortune with a select few, Still Hustlin Records CEO, Renegade Foxxx is currently on the look-out for hot new Hip-Hop and R&B artists to add to his roster. In addition to the talent search, Foxxx already teamed up with artist Bone Crusher to launch an adult-themed club tour in Atlanta.

Up next on the entrepreneur’s list -- a Still Hustlin Clothing Line and an exclusive car club for high end sports cars…a true sign of an ultimate hustler.

Foxxx’s single “Tough Love” can be found on radio personality Wendy Williams’ new album “Wendy Williams Brings the Heat Volume 1” and his next album is set for release in the fall.

i'm not sure if i am the one being referred to as bitter?
but i assure you i'm not!
several people complain about non-pool posts being made in the main forum.
i wasnt ever one to complain about it!
but i do take full resposibility for moving this thread to npr after it was brought to my attention.
and i also take full responsibility for moving it back after "a mountain was made out of a molehill"!
i stated i an earlier post in this thread that i would not move another single post out of the main forum until policy or guidelines dictating what should be posted in the main forum were made known.
yet the thread continues on with more complaints and less about the original post.
i wasn't one to ever want posts moved from the main forum. it was being done to try to make the majority of posters happy, not me! :)

I totally appreciate your candor. If I am the one that made a "mountain out of a mole hill" I am sorry. I have expressed my intentions in my previous post in this thread.

You have one of those jobs that nobody wants and I for one appreciate your efforts as a moderator. Like you said, you can't please everybody......sad but true.

Iconcue, I don't believe in my heart of hearts that anyone was referring to YOU as bitter. FWIW, I wish this damn thread had been deleted at this juncture. I don't like controversy, especially on this forum. :(

I have thought long and hard about why folks get "heated up," for lack of a better term, about forum happenings such as this. It boggles my mind because, in the scheme of things, moving a thread shouldn't create an environment for such hostile colloquy, at least not on AzBilliards. I have enjoyed posting here for some time now and hope to continue. :)

I received a very disturbing PM regarding this thread, so disturbing that I slept on it overnight, before making a decision to respond to it publicly. I am actually sickened by it. I have eliminated the names referenced within the PM.

FYI... that thread was moved back to the main forum at [censored] request - not yours. There seems to be a twinge of favoritism going on in this forum. You don't have to be a part of that. You may disagree with some people on different issues, but to me it seems as if respect has been abandoned in an attempt to pout until you get your way. Your "friends" would have never done such a thing for [censored]. That is what I mean by favoritism. On a daily basis we are insulted, put down, harassed, called [censored] and all sorts of dirty names. If you want to champion a cause, champion that one for [censored] - not baseball caps. If all you have to worry about is someone calling your thread "non-pool related"...consider yourself very lucky. I have stuck up for you on [censored] during and after your participation there. You have a lot of influence with the members of this forum, use it for things that matter. As it stands now, I am no longer going to post here, neither is [censored], and neither are some other people that add a lot to this forum. You can applaud that, or look at it as something that should be changed in the way people posture themselves around here.

I am sickened by this PM, even after sleeping on it for 24 hours. It is disturbing to me.

First off, I never requested to have this thread moved back to the Main Forum.

Second, I do not know the moderators on a personal basis. I do not have any influence on the policy of this forum, never have and never will. It is a difficult job, and I applaud those who stepped up to the plate and volunteered to take on this task.

Third, it is disconcerting to me that the topic of the IPT is dragged into this thread when, in reality, this thread has absolutely nothing to do with the IPT and/or "Kevin Trudeau's money." It is apparent that somebody is "bitter" and targeted me as the initiator of this thread. Why? I have no idea.

Fourth, if a poster is put down, threatened and/or harassed, then it is their problem, not mine.

Fifth, Iconcue, I am not upset with you whatsoever, and I think you know that, at least I hope so. :)

In conclusion, I just want to enjoy my AzBilliards experience. I am not trying to champion any cause, and I do not seek favoritism. I am just one of hundreds of posters who enjoys networking with other like-minded pool folk. Isn't that what this forum is supposed to be all about?

JAM I think some people take this forum too seriously. They act as if a thread being moved is something life altering. And Straybullet, don't you only post in the NPR section anyways? I can't remember the last time you made a post about pool (seriously, that's not a jab).
