I have to be in Brookline Mass. (outside of Boston) next week for a job interview. I plan on being there for 2 nights. I have not had a lot of luck finding some inexpensive sleeps. I have found a lot of B and B's

Those of you familiar with the area, shoot me a PM with your suggestions.

To keep this pool related, any places to play close by?

Thanks.

You missed one of the best rooms in N.E. by about 5 years. Brighton Billiards shut down a while back. Jillian's you can get to easily on the train, it's right next to Fenway Park. There is also Flattop Johnny's http://www.flattopjohnnys.com/ Don't think either of those places have any good tables or players that go there. Flattop has something about winner of "best poolhall" award but I was there twice, tables had slow red cloth on it, bad lighting, not a single person there that knew how to play over a D.

Thanks. Any recommandations for hotel/motel/BB's

You could try the Hotel Buckminster in Boston's Kenmore Square. It's a short cab or train ride into Brookline.

There's also a Howard Johnson's on Boyleston Street in the Fenway Park area. It's not as straight of a shot into Brookline as the Buckminster, but it's close.

If you don't mind using the subway, Cambridge may be a good choice. There are hotels just outside of the Alwife, Harvard, and Kendall/MIT Red Line stations. You can connect to the Green Line at Park Street from any of these stations. The appropriate Green Line route will take you into Brookline.

Considering the area and the time of year, rooms might be glutted with parents ushering their kids off to college.

Not sure what's available but Jamaica Plain is right next to Brookline as well. Nothing cheap about any of these places, especially this time of year.

Tony...It might be a little out of the way, but there is a Red Roof near the airport. We get a 20% AzBilliards discount. I use it at Red Roof Inns all over the country. Good luck with the interview.
