i had a cue built in like 2002. when i got it the natural was pink. i sold it in like 2004 and it was a hair darker but not much. i saw it this march and it was pretty dark. so in 4 to 6 years with auto coat it got alot alot darker. i just made a sneeky with brown and no finish. i letting it sit it has darkened up some but not enough

From what I have seen if you have the light brown phenolic it is going to take a while. If you are looking for a dark brown phenolic I would suggest ordering Mahogany phenolic.

Just seconds if you stain it before finishing. I've also wondered if UV would affect it, but haven't experimented with that.

Both good ideas. Staining works, UV does not. I buy my phenolic in rod form, which is generally darker than the tubes Atlas sells. I made a SW repl. shaft once & used stain to match the phenolic color.
