Brumback Banks..."WTF"!!

Ditto that idea (book & dvd combo), John. Love the 1st one - lots of help... much of it with things I was tickling good results with, but see a clear path thru now.
One suggestion for future dvd's that I thought could have been an improvement in the 1st one...
Be sure that the camera angles are wide enough to show the diamonds when you're executing/teaching shots. That's an immeasurable help in applying what you're seeing to initial attempts at the table. The 2 & 3 rail in the side shots, for instance. True, you have to work with them to get the feel, but initial angular set up took extra trial & error since I couldn't see clearly the starting lines you used. Have had good success with them, though!!
Look forward to the next round.
Thanks so much for your efforts!

Yes it would have been nice to explain the track lines for 2 and 3 rail banks. However I do have Beard's DVD/book and he explains that part pretty clearly.

I have all of Freddie's stuff, too. Will take some comparative looks as time permits.
I don't know if explaining the tracks was absolutely necessary here - but you can pause the dvd to check the stick line if the diamonds are in frame.
Great stuff on John's dvd! Freddie's, too.

That Is a good Idea!!.I should probably do It that way.Think I will. Thanks John B.
John,

I agree a book and dvd combo would be the way to go. As far as the book goes, I like a learning tool type of book. Similar to the Eddie Robins One Pocket books...both of them were over the top and good for years ...

IMO

Thanks.

John,

Regardless if you do a book or another DVD it will be the nuts the way you explain things MAKE SENSE...when we played the other night as scotch partners your tips and explanations made sense and I learned more in a couple hours from you about banks than i thought possible...thanks again

Casey

P.s. your DVD is great and you did an awesome job with it

Banking with the beard and the Brumback DVDs are entirely different.

The banking with the beard series goes a lot more into theory on how english and stroke affect the ball. The Brumback DVD focuses more on how to run a lot of balls.

The one thing I am disappointed about in both of these videos is the fact that they were not shot on diamond tables and neither DVD really goes into bank pool theory and safety play.

I am working on a diamond, couple hundred DVDs and we'll see!

Ordered mine, got it today (quick delivery), watched it, tried some shots, am very impressed. John is an absolute banking machine and the way he explains things and the philosophy about how he shoots shots is truly enlightening. This is a great video that just about everyone can learn something from. Well worth the money.

Awsome dvd
