Brunswick 26 1/2 Adventure starting

What? Someone made the cue into a walking stick??? Well it does look like you will have a very nice blank to work with.

I am assuming this was an original 2 piece due to the wrap being present.. Here's to hoping putting it back into regular duty as a cue is doable.....

25" means a butt cap and likely some serious ringwork around a good sized joint......

A buttcap would look terrible on this cue.

Check out these examples - on some cues the shafts were longer than the butt in those days - the handle may be closer to full length than you think:

I agree. You want to preserve all the work in the butt and try to straighten the points a little. Best way to do that would prob be to cut it and install a new handle. And if it doesnt roll straight, this may need to be done anyway. Great pick-up...that's a cool project !!
 
Nice score! You could always have it cut in the handle area and the extra length added there. You gotta leave the sleave as is. A little TLC and this will be a sweet cue. I had Jerry R. do an excellent 26 1/2 conversion for me and think he'd be a great guy to take this on.

I'll take some good pictures when it arrives.. I can only hope this was done to it years and years ago and someone didn't make it into a cane to stick it onto ebay :eek:

I have seen some of the Jerry R tributes and they definitely have my mind spinning =)

And PT I always keep a walking stick in my tapper pocket... Hoping this one ends up worth a little more than my standard....

Darn shame it was cross drilled. Hopefully it can be salvaged "whole" anyway.

If not then perhaps it would at least contribute the prongs in some sort of a short splice.

Any way you slice it, it's a great find I think.
