Brunswick Anniversary snooker table questions

Hello. I'm a new guy here. Glad to be part of the forum.

I recently picked up what I believe to be a Brunswick Anniversary snooker table. It's 6 x 12 with 5 pieces of slate that are at least 1 1/2 inches thick (unbelievably heavy). It has the two large pedestals on each end and a smaller one in the middle, The legs have the aluminum trim around the bottom. It also has the aluminum pieces on the corners.

I don't have a picture at the moment, as it is not set up yet. But, I would appreciate some help with identification and possibly what year it was made. If anyone knows what the approximate value would be, I would appreciate that as well.

Thanks in advance, I look forward to being a member of this forum.

Tables, just like cues, are worth what someone is willing to pay...and more importantly how badly you want to sell it. A 6x12 snooker table has a very limited market...even if it is an Anniversary. GLWYS!

That is exactly the same table I have. Mine still has the aluminum trim on the pedestals.

The little bit of research that I've done says that these are worth $7-9000 in good used condition, and up to $14000 restored. Is this true? I think I would pass out if that were the case.

Anyhow, if anyone can shed some more light on this thing, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks.

I hear stories of people almost giving away snooker tables. There are very few people who have the desire and SPACE to put a snooker table.

When Matchroom Billiards here in Saskatoon went under and auctioned their tables the snooker tables went for $75

As others have mentioned, snooker tables have a very small market. I know our local room got a nice brunswick snooker table for under 1k.

I can see it being a tough sell. If I had room for a 6 x 12 I would definitely be interested even though I do not play Snooker but I also would not spend much over $1k for one either.

I totally don't have a clue. I just googled the table and happened to see that. I'd say it's probably in your general area as far as value. Just don't make a laundry table out of it. That's a real piece of history. Hopefully you can keep it and enjoy it, but don't let your wife garage sale it for chump change. It's like money in the bank; how much, I'm not certain.

Try a PM to the above seller. Perhaps he can enlighten you...

The reality is that snooker tables are a tough sell in North America. Part of the problem with the antique Brunswicks like yours are that nowadays you can buy a pretty top of the line table from Shender, Warika or Star for a pretty good price so the only real reason to get a Brunswick is to save money or for the nostalgia of it. That said plenty of people love the look of a nice Brunswick so there is a market if the table is in good condition, but it's pretty small. As for price anything more than about a few thousand would be unlikely in my opinion because even though they're old, they're not really all that rare. I heard about a place with ten of them for sale for like $300 each and the last one that changed hands in my area was literally given away to the first person that would come move it.

As for the year built I think Anniversaries were made from the late 50's to the early 60's but I'm sure there are others that confirm that. It would be the same era that they made the Anniversary pool table. By the way, for a fun fact the aluminum bands on the base of the pedestals are there to protect the table from mops.

Also I think the tables with two pedestals were made in the US, while the ones with three were made in Canada. Not sure if that helps or not.

I've seen an Anniversary snooker table on KC craigslist for months at $800. Still there I think. A close to mint condition Centennial snooker table went for $500 here locally. A pool hall bought it and I think they were already trying to sell it.

Thanks very much for the input. I'm not sure what I am going to do with it yet. I personally don't have the space for it, and I already have a 4x8 Olhausen. My nephew and I picked up the table from a fellow that was completely stripping his house, and needed it out of his basement.

Anyhow, I would listen to reasonable offers from anyone in the market for one of these. It is in very good shape, and easy access to pick up.

Cheers.
