Hello,

my first thread..

Me is the grachtencowboy, a feared Poster from Europe who now wants to spread his wings and see whats happening at AZ. HI!

Question: I bought this cue on ebay germany last week. The seller declared it as a snooker cue, wiich is probably the reason why i got it for 15 euros. With google ill find about any cue, exept for this one.. Can somebody help me? I would like to know how old and the name or number of this cue.

Sorry the pic is not the best. iI spend all my money on cues and never got around buying a digicam..

Hey Ho!!

Wow! When nobody replied till now than this must be a promising peace of wood! Maybe a never released pototype? :D

I think its late 70 or earley 80 s. What makes me wonder though is the laminated shaft. It about 13/14 layers and i dont think this kind of technology is older then 10 yrs. Correct me if im wrong.

Are there no brunswick experts on this forum?

Absolutely...better pics would be a big help. As it is, it looks like a Dufferin era Brunswick, 70s-80s would be the right time frame. Not really valuable, but a nice, solid cue. As for the laminated shaft, it may not be original to the cue.

Dufferine did make laminated shafts in the 1980's for a while. So I would date the cue in the 80's instead of 70's. Like has been said it is not real valuable, but I would suggest putting a real hard tip on it and it would make a great break cue. The laminated shafts are stiff and are great for breaking.

For a short period of time in the late 70's Brunswick did indeed build flat laminated shafts. They went with cues they called the Monarch line, IIRC. Those cues with laminated shafts are not in the Blue Book, or in any Brunswick catalog. But I think the ones I saw had the pin in the butt, not the shaft. I've also seen a couple come up on eBay, but that's been a while now.
