Hi guys, I’m new to the forum. Just wanted to ask if there is such a thing as a 9 foot Brunswick Hawthorne table? Thanks in advance!!!

According to the flyer in my circa 1986, “the Hawthorn is available in 7 and 8-foot models…”

Honest response.

What he suppose to say? Nothing or something correct and factual. Jay has been in the table biz and industry for 60 years. He’s more qualified than most to give an educated opinion.

Let me see, he didn’t use 5 paragraphs to soften the blow of reality that it is in fact a less than average quality Bwick table.

Anyways there’s better equipment for the same price, if ya have one enjoy it.

Is that better?

Low end response
I can look at that table and see it’s a low end table lol it looks like something you get at the places that sell swimming pools as well. Not all brunswicks are fine pieces of furniture. 😂

If that‘s what you have available to play on though enjoy it.. There was a time in my life I didn’t have a diamond but had one of those cheap tables bought at Namco pools and was happy to have it.

By the table weight in the specs, it is 3/4” slate. Likely not a bad starter table for kids / family to play on if in good condition. However a table of this age is most likely not in very good condition regarding the cushions, pockets, corner, caps, etc.

This is the kind of table someone would likely be either be giving away or extremely low $, if you supply the labor to break it down and move it.

Coincidentally the brochure in post #4 is from an establishment once called Edison Billiard and Cycle.

I was surprised and happy to find they still exist but dropped the ‘Cycle’.

I’ve been in Edison Billiards 50-60 times over the years. I lived in Lexington, just down the road for 10 years but was in Mansfield area for almost 40 years. Grew up in Crestline.

This went a bit South, please accept my apologies, I of course acknowledge that the Brunswick Hawthorn is a “low end” table compared to what many of you consider to be an acceptable baseline for competitive players.

I’m just a guy and learning and having any table at all is a lifetime accomplishment. Sorry for being proud/defensive. There is a lot of good knowledge here and I would like to be able to participate if that’s ok.

This is a forum full of pool players, a sub-set of humanity that rarely if ever sugar-coats a damn thing. If you're gonna hang here you can't get all pissy/butthurt when you get a 'factual' answer you don't like. Need to have a thick skin, a sense of humor and be able to both give-n-take 'the needle'. Example: If owning a imported home table is a 'lifetime accomplishment' you may have set your 'bar' a tad low. ;) Just jacking with ya bro, enjoy your table. They play fine, just not built to commercial/tournament standards.
