brunswick table id help/challenge

Looks like a IV to me. I believe it was standard if you got a black table to have chrome castings. The ball tray/return would be the dead give away. From the top they look identical. The ball tray and return are much sleeker and elegant on a 5. A 5 in my opinion is the best looking professional table ever. The 4 has the flush pockets just like the 5. In either case I wouldn't mind owning it. Although a 5 is what I really want. I have a 3 and love gold crowns in general. I think the diamonds look terrible. Just my opinion.

What GC5 are you talking about with a ball return?

5's have a ball return option. See pics. Also forgot to mention the castings on a 5 are completely different. So it's not a 5 for sure. Most likely and almost definitely a 4.

Also Glenn, sorry to hear about your accident and hope for a speedy recovery. You are a well respected mechanic here. I certainly don't want to question your expertise but, I am pretty sure it's a 4 and 5 has a ball return/gully option.

or....
Maybe we should wait for the photos of the corner castings, corner trim and ball box trim?

It is not a gold crown. The levelers are wrong and the threaded rod on those are too small to fit in brunswick's bushing. I never saw any knock-off copying the frame (too expensive and you're not going to see it anyway , right?)
One pic of the frame will give it away

I'm kind of with you on this one as those feet look real close together, GC feet are about 38" apart and those look awfully close to each other.

Frame only?
Better evidence would be the corner castings, corner trim and the ball box trim or the end rail if it has an emblem.
Easier to get pictures of them also.
Especially when most frames are buried in a storage space or garage.

Yes of course more pictures would seal the deal. But, the corner castings are definitely not a 5. The legs do look close together but the entire picture doesn't have the proper aspect ratio. The picture makes the table look long and thin. Therefore the legs look closer together. Here are the unmistakable 5 corner castings.
