BTG Table Diagramming Tool

One thing that was a problem with the Cuetable was each image was a system draining Shockwave application. And when you quoted it in a thread, the quoted message would be a whole new Shockwave application.

I know the HTML5 is way way better on computer system resource usage. That said, are we seeing jpeg picture images on this thread, and only when we click on the image, it takes us to the HTML5 editor? Or are we seeing in this thread HTML5?

Maybe it doesn't make a difference but if having lets say 20 html5 images in a thread causes the system to slow down like having 3 cuetable diagrams used to, showing only a jpeg image in the thread would be better.

I don't know enough to know which way you are doing it...

What is shown in the threads is just an image. It is a snapshot of what was created in the tool. This certainly keeps the complexity to a minimum, and no special software for the forums necessary (this will work in any forum that allows images to be posted.)

In the editor when you click "Generate Image" it uploads a PNG file to a free image host (imgur.com) and then what is posted in the forum is a link to that image. PNG files are not lossy like a JPEG, so they should stay crisp and clear exactly like what is in the editor.

When you click on an image in a forum post, it takes you back to the editor so you can make further edits to the given layout, and generate a new image to post.

Great work, mohrt!

Suggestion: add this bit of css to the balls:

cursor: pointer

so that the cursor changes to a hand/pointer on mouseover, indicating they can be moved. On Mac/Chrome, the cursor remains a text input line.

Improvements!

1) added diamond markings
2) added two ghostballs
3) made balls brighter and clearer, removed unnecessary shadows
4) pointer turns to hand when mouseover

I'm using Explorer 8 and the layout doesn't do anything. The buttons click OK but nothing happens. Do I have to supress the popup blocker or something?

I don't think Explorer 8 is fully compliant with HTML5. Do yourself a favor and download the "Google Chrome" browser. Never look back at IE. Optionally, upgrade your IE browser to the latest incarnation, it should work fine.

Best thread of the year. Works easily on the iPad, looks great. Fat fingers make it little bit challenging to precisely position the balls but I got the hang of it.

Could you perhaps add a copy button to make copying easier? On iPad it is a bit cumbersome to copy the text field.

So nice to have something simple again.

I came across your thread today while searching for something similar.

It is excellent as numerous posters have noted.

I would suggest having
Magnifier say 2x to show finer detail,
Lines,
Rail Diamonds & Corner Diamonds ie 3 rail,
Black and White rendering, and
Cue ball enlargement to indicate tip positioning.

Unless you have many people suggesting an improvement, I
would go slow. I recommend you NOT make this a features laden
tool.

I am writing a pool book and have need of diagrams. I was going
to hand sketch diagrams and photograph them for a first draft. I
will try some diagrams this week to see how it would work.

Would there be any problem in using your diagramming tool and
including your url. Or would you prefer that it be removed or that
I not use it for a commercial product.

Again. Excellent work and thanks for sharing.

I am fine with including diagrams in your book and including the source material information. Thanks!

Awesome job getting this going with something that doesn't require a resource hogging plug in!

Like someone said a couple pages ago though.....those pocket sizes could stand a little attention.
Zoom function would be awesome, but understandably is a bit complicated. Pocket sizes should be simple enough to get worked out though
