Buffalo's Closing For Good?

I just heard from a reliable source and have not been able to confirm that buff's in New Orleans might be closing for good. The only thing my internet research could reveal is that Buffalo's on sixth street in Austin Texas closed in late summer of 2020. If this is old news or some BS please forgive me. Just trying to figure out what is going on.

Down there they bet with both hands 24hrs a day. Have heard nothing of them closing.
 
Buffalo Billard's in Austin Texas is not connected to the pool gambling Mecca in New Orleans.

The place in Austin was pretty neat, nice atmosphere...but not really a "Pool Hall". The Tables, mostly Gold Crowns were not terrible..and they had several 9 foots. I used to go there early in the day sometimes to practice around and ran into a few ok players..B level..maybe low A's. On balance it was more of a hang out and hook up spot.

Sucks though. Across the street there was a really cool place called BD Riley's that had been there for years also that closed recently. One of my friends actually got Married there!

Its interesting how many "Buffalo's" pool rooms I have seen over the years. Seems to be a popular name for rooms.
I played at Buffalo Billiards in Petaluma Ca years ago, and have been to the one in Texas and the original in the New Orleans area a few years ago. I was able to meet/play with Hu and Joey A. Good times.
Others that I had never made it too, I think there was a room in Reno with that name also.
 
Buffaloe’s in New Orleans just had their liquor permit temporarily revoked. Between the Governor and the State Supreme Court the Covid restrictions are tough to figure out. Apparently the ATF doesn’t abide by the Courts decision and is going by the dictators restrictions.

They must not have greased the proper person. After all, we’re talking about New Orleans- it’s almost as corrupt as Chicago.
