Thank you in advance for any advice. In 1997 I bought a Mike Erwin cue and it played so smooth. When I would stroke the cue ball it was like shooting into a cloud or a pillow. Sometime I couldn't even feel it hit the cue ball. I am wanting to know, if you had to build a cue to play as soft as possible, how would you do it? Type of woods, shaft diameter, ferrule length, joint type, one piece butt or spliced, etc. I am already there on the soft tip. I like the cue to be around 20 ounces and 58' in. length. I am considering ordering one from Schmelke unless someone has another suggestion. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you. fyi I don't care about deflection.
