Building Just for Tournaments

Has anyone ever tried to put about 8-12 tables in one cheap building(maybe in an industial park) and just run tournaments...all different kinds? You would have to locate in the places that have the most players that travel in a one to three state area. Have your big open tournaments on weekends and the smaller ones during the week both day and night. Is it possible for some TD or someone that knows how to run them and get people to come to them to at least break even? Johnnyt

Just to brake even??? Then why even try? MaybeI'm missing your point here??

I'm not sure that I would try such a thing unless a had some sort of contract with the APA or similar organization. We can talk about creating great players and tours all we want but they are not the one paying the bills on places like these. You need a hole lot of Joe Bangers in the mix to. We have had a few halls around here in industrial parks and off the beaten path with mixed results. The ones with the strong league connections and a bar are the ones that are still here. This is just my local observation, I love the tourny's and it would be great to have a place to compete at different levels.
