I've seen some really neat cue pics on here where the cue doesn't have a rubber bumper, but instead has a mirror chrome bolt. I'm assuming this is a weight bolt or some sort of cap. What is it called? Can anyone recommend a cuemaker that can do this type butt? Thanks in advance for your time.

I've never seen a Q like that, but stay away from my hardwood floors with that bolt...JER:D

Your buddies at Carolina make cues like this from time to time. Give us a call.

Bumperless butt

Yes.. like the traditional Hoppe style butt. Like Dennis S. does. I've seen another cuemaker on here that does them as well but don't remember who it was.

Matta.. thanks man! I will definitely give you guys a call first. =o]

I assume you mean like this? This is the picture of a Blackcreek for sale on New2YouQ's website.

I absolutely love this look.

Bumperless

Yes.. that's the style I'm looking for. I found a couple more pics here of fellow Az'ers cues. Hope it's OK to post them up for reference...

I know a guy with some nice cues that have no bumper. He said if you have to put the cue anywhere, place it back on the rack. If you tap it on the floor , you never get invited back to play again. His reason is they are not to be used to hold you up. They are for hitting cue balls only.
Luckily I have been invited back.Resting a cue on it's butt is a hard habbit to break. Resting it on your shoe is considered OK.

no bumper

I like the look a lot. And I don't know of any pool halls in my area that don't have carpeting. But I suppose I would just rest the cue on my shoe. I'm pretty particular about taking care of my cues.
