Burnishing the tip

I use this as I've had it around from when I first did woodturning. Don't use it for woodturning anymore, but I've found it to work really great to not only burnish the side if tips, but also totally clean and polish up the ferrule at the same time.

Predator themselves right here say they use Loctide 495.
Since I first saw this video a year ago I've been doing it like that and really like the results.
No effect on the hardness of the tip and no mushrooming. Best of both worlds.

This is interesting! Before I had scrolled down enough to see it I was thinking to myself, I wonder what Predator uses. I was thinking that because my Revo shaft has the stock Victory Soft tip and I've been really impressed with how nice the sides of the tip have stayed and how easily they touch up when needed to get the shine back and also the fact that it's the least mushrooming tip I've ever had. I'm used to soft tips like Kamui mushrooming pretty good and needing quite a bit of upkeep when new. I haven't had to do any on my Revo. Really like how it plays too.

So the best trick yet seems to be CA glue. If this something you use, would you mind sharing if you go for a thin, medium or thick glue?

The first time anyone does that on my pool table will also be the last time. Jesus, get a scrap of wool and glue it to something, don't get your spit on a table, don't polish the cloth.
Lil spit ain't going to hurt nothin.

old timers used spit and a dollar bill. works just fine. no need for super glue to make it look good.
a good tip needs nothing done to the sides.

the real place to use spit is on the top of the tip as it starts to get hard. spit is a meat tenderizer.
