Im getting a little busier now since it got cold here in Pa.
Kids will be out of school soon and the college gang will be back home, this should put the fire back in this crazy business we are in.
If it dont look out.

Business is good here in Tacoma, Washington!!!!!!

Highrun55, and all other room owners, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and and the best of health and wealth to you and your families. May the coming year see the Big Resurgence in Pool and Billiards we all would like to see.

Have a great night!!!!!

It's picking up down here in FLA also, thank goodness. Especially when we get a cold snap... (we had 2. LOL) there is much competition within a 30 minute drive but, we're still offering old school pool! A couple new and fancy poolroom/sportsbars have opened giving free pool in the afternoons, but we're still managing to get by on $2 an hour. We've been at this location since 1958, I think we can hang in ...I was sorry to hear about Bakers in Tampa closing, they had been in business since 1942...
Merry Christmas to all and a prosperous new year!

No one in Florida gets to use the term "Cold Snap" in reference to their local weather... EVER!! LOL we have had 10 nights below zero Fahrenheit. and it ain't even January yet LOL :D :D :D

in February in Minnesota its noteworthy when you get ABOVE zero.. a "cold snap" drops us to -10,-20 below zero Fahrenheit. for the daily HIGH temp.

I remember those days/nights up there softshot! I left Minnetonka 3 years ago for the Carolina's and must say, I do NOT miss the lengthy winters up there. A friend up in Warroad sent her "air temperature" thermometer from last year and it read -52 degrees. Nothing lives in that cold

I have been kicking around opening a smaller room here as the existing rooms seem pretty brisk all year round. The APA here only takes 2 weeks between every session so they seem to keep the players interest.

Sorry Softshot...I feel your pain, I think it is going to be 82 today. I did pay my dues as a youngster and lived in Anchorage, Alaska for 3 years.
Maybe that's why I live in FLA today.

Schucks! Sometimes it's gets so cold here I have to bring my guinea pig indoors. His magic number is 55 degrees then the stinky sucker comes inside.
Have a wondeful day all, hmmm should I wear shorts to work today...

Although I was born in Calif. my Mother and all her relatives were born and grew up in Chisolm and Hibbing. Talk about cold. Thank goodness they moved away, all except my Uncle who lived there til the day he died. We could not talk him into moving even after retirment. The weather plays such an important role in the pool business. Bad weather usually is the best, and in our case it is the rain but that has been lacking quite a bit the last 2 years. But too cold, forget it. I tried living in the midwest after discharge and made it 5 years. The day I left it was 19 below and when I landed back in Calif. it was 65. I never looked back.
