OK.
Let's start with the smug remarks and get them out of the way.
Then we can get to the real answers.

I have a Helmstetter/Adam Cue with a cracked butt.
Where in Los Angeles can I get this repaired without having to send it away to Muellers or Seyberts.

Speaking of those two places......
What are some more cue repair places I might send my cue to for repairs?

And....... is it worth repairing?
What could be the value be after the repair?

This is for that SPECIAL poster.
What a wiener!

The butt cap needs to be replaced. Somebody will make a new butt cap and it will look like new. You will lose the Adam decal. The repair should run around $50 or thereabouts.

I would ship it to Scot at Proficient or Ryan at Meullers. Cheap shipping is USPS priority mail. You can call Ryan or Scot for a price in advance if you want. In my opinion, the repair is worth it and the decal is not very meaningful since it has the Helmstetter logo .

Running all over town to get a repair done in LA is a hassle, but maybe Tiger in Burbank would make one for you.

Just keep a pic for proof it was there at one time. Running all over town to get a repair done in LA is a hassle, but maybe Tiger in Burbank would make one for you.

Epoxy and tourniquet fix that.
Mix the epoxy with some yellow tint.
Wipe off excess that comes out of the crack.
After squeezing off, tighten it again for a few hours this time.

Interesting way to do it. It's going to show since the crack is right through the decal, right? Maybe you can do it for him?

Yes, it will still show. But, will not rattle and should be pretty strong if you use West System epoxy.

Not taking repairs right now.
He can send it to Mueller's or Sybert's.

Thanks Joey.
I am going to try the epoxy first.

Thanks Tate.
If the glue & go doesn't work I'll check out proficient.

Thanks everyone for thier humor.

For a serviceable repair- epoxy.

Cosmetically perfect repair- new butt cap. But you lose the logo.

Worth fixing? Yes in general.

These are cool players and are great starter cues or bar cues...or even your main player if you like it.

yeah , but take the cap off first , don't epoxy it to the cue.

Now for the rest of the story.....
...how did the damage occur?
I'm buying it like this.
But I assume it was either frigidity, humidity or stupidity.
Seller is in Tampa, FL.
So could be Snow Bird Cold or Florida Wood Swelling Humidity.
Stupidity can happen anywhere and everywhere.

Thanks Joey.

mchnhed-
Unless you are MUCH handier than most folks, you will end up with a very ugly cue if you attempt using epoxy and clamps for this job. The loss of the logo will be the least of it. Really ugly, unless you are very skillful.
This is not an expensive repair and these cues play well.
Spend the small change to get it done right unless you absolutely cannot afford it.

Correct.
In fact I'm thinking of having the seller send it straight to the shop to save on one of the shipping costs and lessen the potential for damage.
Of course I'll prearrange it first!

I was thinking of getting a matching wood butt cap.

Don't do the wood...get black linen fiber.
Falcon had a run of bad ones that cracked easily...that's what I always had done....
...the linen fiber will out last the cue...and black matches the collars.

I have one of those. It has some scratches but no cracks and the logo is good.
I can fix it for you or sell you the cap.
